I am not really a PC gamer. Strictly console is where I am at. Anyways, I got a couple of games for my laptop. Its got a good graphics card and all so I figure I would give Half Life a try.

Is there a way to use a contoller with this game? I got a PS2 style contoller from Best Buy but it doesnt really work properly. I can use the joysticks to look around, but the buttons dont work.

Then the joystick manual does say that some FPS might not be compatible with this Logitech contoller.

I even bought a USB-Xbox connecter which supposedly should let me use my XBox contoller, but that does the same thing.

I need help damnit! I cannot use that WSAD Space craq!

There is a joystick setting in Half Life 2, but I'm now sure how it works though.

Ugh. :( Learn to use the KBAM combination, R03. Believe me, once you get used to it and it becomes second nature, you'll be glad you did.

Wow, some one who doesn't like the FPS settins on PC. I guess that's cuz you started out in console. The first time I had to play a console FPS without a mouse, i was like what's going on. How do you aim with this anoalog thing :D

Once you get the hang of the mouse/keyboard combo, you will be disgusted at how clumsy the controllers are for FPS. The fine tuned control you get aiming your guns with a mouse is awesome.

Thats what I've been told. But honestly using a mouse just hurts my right wrist after a while. And I have tried all sorts of different mice. :(

You need a driver... look on google for a x-box controler driver, you may need to try more than one to get it to work...I made a USB cord for the PC for HALO on the computer, because I love the XBOX version so much....the controler didnt respond the same way, I gave up and used the ole mouse and keyboard :(
