I don’t like that it’s true either but I have to accept reality. Salty, this issue will persist as long as this front office (or maybe even team owner) remain in place.
Tari has sucked lately. You can make it about Tari vs. Reed, but I was mostly just making fun of BTG for his comments about my athleticism preference, because I said Castle would eat Reed’s lunch this game if they were matched against each other. I was one of the few that was against signing Tari to stupid money. I like Reed and wish he would get a shot at starting the rest of the year, but he has not proven himself as an NBA starter in my eyes. His defense is poor and basketball is played on both sides of the court. It’s why OKC and SA are so good. We need his shooting, but good team’s are going to shut him down in Ime’s offense.
No, it’s on the front office. Lack of player development across an entire team speaks to a systems issue. The GM is tasked with fixing broken systems.
Generally when the team has the best record with said person as the starter 8-2 that’s generally what is considered in the “should this person start?” not your eye test of defense which is refuted by the numbers overwhelmingly. He’s not a great defender , probably slightly below average per th numbers and is many fold offset with his offense you can say my eye test dictates x while all the metrics and results dictate Y that’s a fair thing to say
It's pointing out your history that explains why you love hyper athletic scrubs. It is what it is. You will always go for the hyper athletic scrub over the guys who actually know how to play basketball. We mighty as well start calling you Ime.
As ugly as the offense was - they scored enough to win. What kind of defense was in the game plan?! Reed has his deficiencies when it comes to defense but it seemed like nobody could keep their man in front of them, leading to easy drives into the paint and rotations that should not have happened. Yes, defend the three but they need to contain the dribble drive and keep it out of the paint.
8-2 as a starter is fool’s gold. Amen started those same games, so maybe it was him that made them 8-2. I know you love Reed and I hope he turns into the guy you think he is, but he is vastly overrated by a fan base that is starved for a 3 pt shooter. We still have a very young roster and I think they all have potential to play for a championship team, but it is going to take time and a better coach. They all have flaws, but signing Durant put the pressure on them and the Rockets to progress faster than what is likely.
Do you not understand how basic stats work? Amen has stated nearly all the games this season, that’s the control. He didn’t come off the bench at the same time to where we have confounder and we don’t know what the intervention were studying is. We know exactly what his win shares are. In fact, by inherently starting Reed due to an injury of a starter we’re already at a disadvantage in those games Forget the starting record even, th plus/minus in that many consecutive games being due to chance is less than 1/100,000 I like Reed to the end he makes the team better, and for most of the season I have argued that it should be from the bench. That’s not the case anymore, the team looks better with him in charge. They’re one of the worst offensive teams in history, it makes sense why a shooter like him opens things up. What you are arguing against isn’t a point, it’s empirical evidence
Yes but @Hemingway seens to think only a blow by on Reed is important and he needs to shoot lights out every game despite the defense focusing on him and KD all game. this is why the eye test is so bad. Fans have biases. Repeated collections of #s/aggregates do not @roslolian
Amen the scrub. LOL. Who are the other scrubs you are talking about? I guess you’re talking about Jalen since he is always on your mind, who I was wait and see on and preferred him over FVV. Castle is not a scrub, no matter how bad you want him to be. He is progressing his offense much faster than Reed is progressing his defense. After rookie of the year, I’m pretty sure he’ll be one of the top vote getters in mip, and it will be deserved. The league is always going to grow toward greater and greater athleticism, just like football and even baseball. However, Reed would be the ideal athlete at gymnastics, since he has a build similar to:
Outclassed and out talented. This team is a second round exit AT MOST. IME NEEDS TO GTFO MORE THAN ANYONE.
