Dillon Brooks was great for this.
But I want to add something. Ideally KD would carry himself more like Dillon except it wouldn’t have that slightly delusional edge because he’s actually skilled enough to back it up. But the slumping disappointed body language doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing. It could be ok, even a potential value add, if his positive body language was increased 5x. At least that’s what the research said from a long time ago.

He gets slumpy on himself when he causes a dumb turnover and alternatively his praise really seems to effect guys for the better.

but again, I wish he was less petulant acting on the court, and Alpi would quit with the incredulousness BS.

The other day I saw someone yawn. Everyone around them took a nap immediately afterwords.

The whole team outside of Kd. Jabari kept his chi up and head high even during that terrible shooting slump a month ago. He stayed professional and kept playing good defense and more importantly kept shooting.

Only problem with Sengun is he won’t leave the refs alone.

The difference between Caleb Williams and Kevin Durant is that the former is a young player who the coach could sit him down and talk, and the latter is an established star who is not ashamed to use burner accounts to snipe on teammates. He's not going to change at this stage of his career.

Very, very speculative. KD knows his career only has so many battles left & the young guns need to know whenever they mess up. JG never had that correction from an alpha dog & look how that turned out. Everything for him was paint-your-nails-positive.

Besides, negative feedback can do a better job of preventing the same mistake because it's more memorable & sometimes it works immediately.

Basketball, in general, and coaches, in particular, are SOFT compared to football. Baseball is soft too but it's a more laid back sport.
