If he can’t get the o-line right this yr he should be fired. We can’t waste another season with a Super Bowl defense and a bad o-line. If we have to struggle through the season with CJ we better go all in on the o-line.

Nico, Mixon, Bullock, Petrie, WA, Hunter, Ingram, Rankins, Lassiter, Agent 0 etc.... were bad moves? Drafting Higgins, Noel and Ersery were bad moves? The Marks move saved last season. I would say Caserio overall despite some mistakes has done a very good job. In fact if the QB that he was forced to pick hadn't crapped the bed the Texans most likely would've been in the SB last year. That's a pretty good job by the GM.

Nick using a chunk of our draft capital to move up two spots for a guy that could have been drafted two rounds later is certainly going to happen. Maybe in multiple rounds.

I give Nick a B. I think it was a big mistake to not hire an experienced QB coach upon drafting CJ to develop him, something that obviously didn't happen. Nick's other failing was his terrible draft choices at OL. If not for those two failings Nick would get an A from me.

All of those moves, save Nico and Petrie, are post-Demeco and defense-heavy. And Petrie (taken in the same draft Nick passed on Hamilton) is only on the list because DeMeco saved his career. He wasn't good, prior to Ryans' hire - heck, he was benched DeMeco's first year.

Caserio had a fairly lousy track record, prior to DeMeco. Hard to believe it's a coincidence his drafting improved once they finally hired a competent head coach.

I saw a recent YouTube interview with Hanna McNair. She was VERY disappointed with the ending of the season (like the rest of us). I got the impression that she expects CHANGES to be made. I think Nick is on the hot seat. He has given several "arrogant" "I am in denial" interviews. But now he is dealing with the offensive line. I am guessing he has been read the riot act.

i think this is fair, but just to pile on, it’s more than just the o-line draft choices. He hasn’t been able to get the o-line right the entire time he’s been here. It’s clearly a weakness or a blind spot.

I’ll also add that trading a 2nd rounder for 1yr of Diggs really sucked. And if CJ doesn’t end up having a really good year 4, that draft pick will have been a big bust.

I will compartmentalize the fact that I can’t stand to listen to the man talk. I find him incredibly obnoxious.

I've noticed that too. He comes off as extremely arrogant.

I don't really see where you guys are getting that he's arrogant or defensive. I've never really gotten that sense from him. If anything, he's just kind of a dry dude who doesn't really have much charisma, and says things in a pretty matter-of-fact way. I do agree with the sentiment that he's mostly hit on defensive picks after DeMeco got here, and hasn't really done much else in the way of maximizing talent on the offensive side of the ball. This absolutely has to be the year he figures out how to build an offensive roster without glaring holes (barring Stroud, if there's no improvement there), otherwise he needs to be shown the door.

My biggest problem with him is he is not improving his weaknesses enough. I don’t know how much he is a deferring figurehead vs making the calls, but it’s not just one position.

We always hear about the OL pick struggles. Counter that with some very good picks on defense, however. But overall, look at his other picks and FA moves - TE is still not great, WRs are ok but no huge wins, QB is not developing and no clear plan if CJ doesn’t work out.

Nick and DeMeco have done well on defense. Give them credit. We are ready to win there. But it’s not just OL - his whole offensive approach just isn’t working. He either needs to step back, needs help, or needs to go.

Could we do better? Yes. Could we do much much worse? Yes.
Not a defense, just an opinion. And at the end of the day, any failures fall on Demeco as well - this is HIS team.

Right now the Texans and Caserio deserve each other. Neither is horrible - but neither is good either.
