Burrows velocity was alot slower than I expected, but his change up certainly has the stuff. Needs to add the curveball back to his arsenal that impressed scouts early in his career. Potential to fall into setup man territory if he's just a change up guy.
What? He was throwing 95-97 mph. Edit: Lmao he also threw his curve 5+ times yesterday. He threw his slider a bunch too along with the change, sinker and 4SFB. I’m not sure you could be further off if you tried.
What's weird about his hot takes in all parts of this forum is that they are easily debunked with 15 seconds of googling.
Throwing a pitch doesn't mean it's good. Right now, he's got 1 elite pitch in his change up and the rest is meh. I'd like to see him work on regaining the wow factor on his curveball. From a fastball perspective, I didn't see anything over 95 -- do you have a statcast or something that confirms? When fastballs don't move and you've only got 1 AA pitch, it makes you a sitting duck long run.
You can see every pitch he threw and the location. All his fastballs were in the 94-97 range. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/nationals-vs-astros/2026/03/06/831524/final/box
He struck out the side in the first inning and was consistently blowing fastballs by guys. Dylans Crews struck out swinging on a 97.2 mph fastball. Further, his slider has always been his better breaking ball so not sure why you keep talking about his curve, which he throws pretty much solely to lefties. Righties hit .203 off his slider with almost 30% whiff rate against it last season. What the hell are you even talking about?
He lost all credibility when he called Kyle Tucker a 10 WAR player last year. I’m not sure where he’s getting this Burrows information from lol
