The combination of old ass running backs and a completely reshuffled offensive line strategy Caserio is working on offense with will surely work at some point, right?
Nick gets too clever by half. The defense is great because Demeco has a system and knows what he wants. The offense is still adrift and Caserio's acquistions reflect that.
the old guys we trade draft picks for kerp getting hurt. Kirk and Diggs are big examples. It’s unwise. I can’t stand that this is our GM’s Mo: trade valuable picks for old guys. Old guys get injured. I hate this4th round f#cking pick for a 29 yr old RB? wtf?
Obviously he's been done. I dont like the trade, giving up a 4th for a another aging RB; it would've been better with the initial 5th rounder. I hope they still draft another RB...Price, Coleman, Claiborne, or Wahsington Jr.
I like Montgomery, but don't understand the overpay by Cas. Rumor said he could be had for a 5th, and we send a 4th, a 7th, and a player? I want to be excited. Hopefully David outperforms his cost!
David is a solid back, but we gave up a potentially good rookie in that 4th round pick. Of course you have to give to get. We probably would have needed to use a 2nd to get one of the better RB in the draft and now that can be used for another position or in a trade. Dumping Juice was a plus. David's numbers have always been solid.
That’s… not how this works. His share had been declining for 3 seasons - 219 > 185 > 158. And he went from 51 & 50 RZ carries in 23 & 24 to just 37 last season. Gibbs had clearly established himself as the every down back. I would guess DM was content with more 50/50 split, with him being RZ back. If the plan is to get Montgomery more touches in the red zone, I like the thinking. I won’t be pleased if this is the only thing they do with the running backs room.
