I truly think he is the worst of all time. It’s between Iman Shupert, Walt Williams, and DFS. Those other two while awful, weren’t making the money DFS is and at least scored more than 2 ppg average.
does this Rockets Twitter dude realize DFS only has like $14 mil/1yr guaranteed left on his deal? You can’t call yourself an authority on the Rockets if u don’t have your facts straight. It’s not even close to the worst contract the team has done. It was obviously a bad signing, but to Stone’s credit he limited the downside by making it only 2yrs guaranteed. As an expiring contract he can be easily traded this offseason or at the deadline. Still pisses me off that we wasted our MLE on an old guy coming off surgery. Moronic.
As bad as Cam is this season, he's still much better than DFS is. I wouldn't say he's literally useless. He's at least more useful than DFS. But Cam is making about twice as DFS.
They did make a gamble. I believe they signed DFS since they thought he was a versatile switchable defender who can guard 1-4 and smaller 5’s. Also they liked his shooting (37%) last 2 years. I also think they wanted another 3 in case Tari went down again and also a possible replacement if he leaves this summer. It makes sense with limited money and that’s the decision they made but it comes at the expense of scoring and playmaking
I'm surprised he's at 25% on threes. I would have guessed lower. Our own announcer Ackerman is surprised when he hits one
It was a reasonable signing on paper. I thought DFS would be a good replacement of Dillon Brooks. What I didn't know was his injury and how serious it was. I suspect that Stone either didn't do his homework or grossly underestimated the extent of the damage. DFS looks nowhere close to what he was in the past two seasons.
Well I didnt say he was worse. Thank goodness we have two awful wing acquisitions under Tilman to debate.
Good point….moves him ahead of Walt Williams for second worst. Think DFS is so bad, that he claims worst of all time and the $53mm ain’t chump change and has prevented us from being able to fix any of the current issues.
It is funny but Finney's stock was pretty darn high during his Lakers stint where even teams like the Spurs and Thunder considered him although I was more on Cam Johnson's side who also underachieved. 3 and D with a bum ankle, no consistent shot and slow speed.
Dude CLEARLY doesn't know about Kelvin Cato Or Matt Maloney, who (I think?) finally comes off the books in the mid 2030s There's a few other contenders.... Theiss (got the FULL MLE - more than DFS did) Brent Price made bank and did absolutely nothing Stro Swift, Jerry Lin, Bonzi Wells And then Scottie Quitten.
I tend to give him a môre time to prove he could recover his former 2024-25 self till the play-in/play off time and (again) early next season, otherwise it's time to Trade him at the next season mid term trade.
