Ive never genuinely disliked a Rockets coach this much. It makes me think about that boston situation with the affair a little differently. You hear Bill Simmons complain about Ime and say the same types of things we say about him, and I know hardcore celtics fans didn't like him.

I wonder if someone within the org leaked the affair to get ime the hell out of there?

by a lot of objective measures he is a "good" coach, and they had made the finals that year, maybe leaking the affair was the only way.

Yes, if he can be replaced by Mike Malone. Malone mustn’t be anyone’s puppet.

Mid season? Hell no. We have to be selfish about this.

I went to see how we do in the playoffs. He opted to stick with Reed and Amen. He has said he stands by his decision to add 3 defensive guys to this team last summer.

Let him take his shot. No more excuses this time. He has a star scorer. He has a 1B and 1C. He has great defenders and rebounders. He has an obedient team. They had the assets to make a nice trade after FVV went out and voluntarily opted not to. They agreed to implement his creative idea of shattering offensive rebounding records rather than acquiring better shooting.

Let's see what he's all about and for me that will be the final judgement.

It's not surprising to be honest. They had a lot of other options. He had an elite coaching staff built by Brad Stevens:

    Charles Lee
    Sam Cassell
    Damon Stoudemire
    Joe Mazzulla
    Will Hardy

I wish the rockets were a simple coaching change away from being a championship team.

In reality, it's top 2 young guys just can't work together long term. And, honestly, none of the young guys look to be on a superstar trajectory. We're trying to build a contender around Sabonis and Iguodala.

The big problem is after tanking we got a team stacked with nice young complementary players. We even pulled a rabbit out of a hat in trading a bust for an aging star. It doesn't matter. None of this stuff matters if you don't get a superstar.

Getting an old Durant just makes it more obvious that these guys will never reach the level he was at in his prime. It's Sad.

That was 32ppg MVP Russ having like the best shooting year of his life. And, they were not even close to being contenders. They got demolished by us in the 1st rd.

    Meh. Maybe. Maybe not.

But I tell you what paradigm I AM over: “We need to keep these young studs together! They’ll win us a championship!”

That has been proven to be bullshit. Our youngsters are not as good as others’ youngsters and high draft picks. If I’m the GM, we trade what we need to trade and take our shot with Giannis next season.

Pretty much every fan base thinks their coach sucks. Clutchfans have never been happy with a coach.

When Tilman wants a new coach, then the Rockets will get a new coach. He’s the only one that actually gets a vote.

If the Rockets get blown out in the first round, then maybe Tilman will make a change. That will give Clutchfans something to root for.

I don't really care too much either way but Malone's whole deal in Denver was to *exclusively* play the vets to the point where he & GM Keith Booth were openly feuding and both ended up getting the boot.

Seems like people here would... not like that

When has a Houston organization actually done what we wanted when we wanted it? I doubt Ime goes anywhere anytime soon so all we can do is hope the players get right cause the main thing I noticed about this team is once we got Durant everyone became passive and looks to defer

I have no idea what correlation you’re trying to make between Reed and DFS.

Why not DFS because he’s pitiful. I feel bad for the guy because his body has clearly betrayed him and he still has to go out for a competing team and act like he belongs there when everyone can see that he doesn’t.

Sabonis and Iguodala are great pieces to a puzzle that Ime has no chance of putting together. It gets more complex with Reed. KD is nothing more than a bright light on how misaligned the team is with the lack of depth of the coaching staff. Every coach has skill set and brings value to the organization. Sadly the current staff is not willing to change their mind set and grow, the next staff will. I used the word staff on purpose. We need help more than change. Not all personnel has to go but it must grow / change

Mike Malone please, thank you. Never despised any coach more and think that extension was way too premature and easily the worst signing by Stone outside of DFS.

Not sure Malone is the answer. He is another stubborn vet nut hugger. Probably need a young hungry coach like Cassell.

I would love Cassell, but he's never been seriously considered before and trusting him with a veteran group after not being around as an assistant not sure I'd give him a shot. Rather he becomes the head assistant of Malone first.

Yeah Bill Simmons is another idiot and nobody cares about the Boston situation but you. Ime's a fantastic coach that turned this franchise around immediately
