The Sengun stans on here and social media can't even defend his poor offense output anymore because it's blatantly obvious. Now it's everyone else's fault and they're resigned to pointing all the blame on his teammates and coach and begging for him to be traded. I think that's one thing his defenders and his critics agree on...let's get Mr. Pleading Hands off this team.
I'll be here when the consequences of prioritizing inferior players over those who elevate their teammates finally hit. Letting Amen run the point instead of getting true point guard, failing to get your big the ball in his spot or allow him to post up, neglecting to establish a clear hierarchy and sitting your best shooter for a bagless athlete.
What is Sengun’s “spot?” no way “not allowing Sengun to post-up” is now an excuse…he smokes layups right at the rim time and time again he gets stifled in the post by the likes of Grant Williams Sengun is a paint bound big with 55% TS Jalen was a joke with his 54% TS last season, yet here goes “franchise player” Sengun with the same efficiency for the 2nd year in a row
Half my wife’s family is Turkish and she doesn’t even like Sengun. Calls him a big baby. Should tell you something
In the 2nd half (mind you Reed already drained 4 3s in the 1st), dude had Reed open in the wing multiple times to just look off and force a flamingo or post up we took a high efficiency shot and gave it up for a bad one…which still missed (multiple times)
I remember on one...Reed was open for over 4 seconds..the players/coaches on the Rockets bench were yelling at him to pass it out and instead he twirled around and threw up a junk hook shot from the free throw line that bricked.
Reed has grown too, in the first half when senguin was bringing the ball up and Reed saw a mismatch he kept barking at him to give him the ball, which he did after the 3rd time
Sengun has probably the worst archetype in basketball. Unathletic centers that can't protect the rim, can't play without the ball in their hands, and can't shoot worth a lick. We've seen with Sabonis how this archetype never wins ****. People see a passing big man and think Jokic when Jokic is one of the best scorers in the league, can shoot from anywhere on the court, and is the best passer in the league regardless of position.
He always has bad games against opposing bigs who are big and athletic. Which is why i have been low on him. Just not big enough, Which isn't a huge issue if he could shoot. But he can't do that either. He is super efficient within 5 feet of the rim. You take that away from him and he struggles.
Somehow he regressed, alright you can blame that on the spacing (lack of), lack of playmakers etc. But his defense is so ass, no excuses there
Sengun used to make difficult shots but it’s not happening this year. I don’t know if it was just luck in the past and this season it’s regression to mean. If it is later then the future is not looking good. To add insult to the injury, he added that one legged shot that is not going in at good enough rate that he is still going with. With that said, I am sure he could be utilized better with right offensive play structure but I am not sure if Ime has that in his bag to pull off.
Sengun has too many different shooting mechanics to ever be efficient...there's no consistency and it's reflected in his ugly misses. The postseason will tell us everything we should know. Luckily hes on a decent contract and shouldnt be hard to move even if he falters. It's sad to say but we may not have any franchise players on the roster.
Sengun is trending in the wrong direction. His shot selection has gotten REALLY really bad, and he looks flat out lazy out there at times. He's a much better player than what he has been showing. I honestly don't know what in the hell is going on with him, but I do know that he's talented enough to be better than he has been lately. Something is definitely off with him.
