Agreed. Winning an AL batting title and gold glove in his age 37 season is seriously impressive! One of my favorite Astros ever, grateful for the years we had him. Awesome to think about what it would've been like to sign him 10 years prior when he was 22 instead of 32.
You figure it out by giving all of his minutes to Okogie. Hell, even 39yo Uncle Jeff can give us better minutes at this point. Tate was also giving us some solid minutes before his injury.
Yeah, it's a mystery why Udoka seems to trust DFS more than Okogie. Okogie is a good defensive player and is shooting better than DFS. Granted, Okogie is too small to guard bigger guys. But we have more bigger defenders than backcourt defenders.
Does anyone have the stats to show if our starters won their minutes together? Obviously Sengun had a bad game, but I’m curious.
I guess Sengun got paid and said I’m done. He has been ass this year. Should have known he balled out last season to get paid. Offensively offensive Cry baby whinner A cone plays better defensive than him
What’s going on with JD? He’s on a 2 way contract and need to be converted or sent back to g league. They haven’t signed any buy outs. Frustrating since JD is better than Holliday. And he actually settles this halfcourt down when he plays
This one is on me…. I turned the game off at half time and watched the UK game that had just finished… I should have finished watching the rockets first. sucks for sure
Fire up the trade machine. I think Sengun gets moved this off season unless he suddenly turns it on and/or has an outatanding playoffs.
Worse. Watching him in this game made me feel like whenever he has the ball, two things will mostly happen. Either he will force his shot and miss, or he will turn the ball over. It's been several games now that I scream at my TV for Alpi to pass the ball whenever he starts dribbling. I was a big fan of his from the start, but I have noticed that he seems to have had a changed demeanor since he became an all star. He started becoming a ballhog and seemed to be entitled. He has lost his Senhub game for most of the season. Maybe he needs to come back down to earth, ignore the adoration from his fans in Turkey during the season, and focus on getting back his groove as a devastating offensive hub. He used to be unpredictable with his passing and quick moves to the basket. Since his success as a ball handler during the Euroleague last summer, he has been dribbling too much and trying to recreate his summer success in Europe. The problem is that the defenses in that league were not even close to the kind of intense defense in the NBA. It is also on Ime to stop his tendencies to drive from way outside the paint.
True. What I saw today in the first quarter was puzzling because Tari and Amen were bringing up the ball and initiating the offense. Reed was camped in the corner and hardly got a pass from most of his teammates. Amen was stumbling and bumbling with the ball while Tari seemed out of whack. When Reed started to initiate the offense in the second quarter, they made a run while the spacing was great. FVV always brought the ball up and initiated the offense, so is it on Reed to demand the ball and run the offense, or does Ime not care who initiates it?
Sengun on defense was straight offensive to anybody who knows even a tiny bit of bb. He didn't move his feet, didn't contest, didn't block out. Im hoping that he balls out in the playoffs to elevate his trade value. Like I said, Stone needs to retool this team. Too many bad shooters.
Just finished watching this game on replay, and man am I sick of our guys getting outworked. If your shots aren't falling, OK, reload for the next game. But getting outhustled for all these rebounds and loose balls? And outmuscled in the paint at both ends? We played like a fat and happy team after our last 3 wins. And we play way too many games fat and happy from reaching the #2 seed last year. Feels like the hunger is missing.
That FT% though DFS was destined to be a **** signing if couldn't hit the 3. Dude was practicing with Amen last offseason.
