Sengun got embarrassed by Draymond last playoffs if the opposing team has a strong PF or C he can’t bully or easily back down on his post-ups, it’s a wrap for him
Amen’s offense is very frustrating to watch. Time to unload him and Sengun hopefully they can grow somewhere with other teams. Need new star power infused into this team
another guy that can’t shoot? He’s also grown more and more injury prone. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a big upgrade over Sengun, but at 23 I don’t think Sengun is a finished product. I still believe he’ll learn to shoot. I would trade him for a better fit, but I don’t want an old guy. Giannis will be 32 next season.
The roster is deeply flawed. Without KD's great ft percentage, the Rockets would likely be again the worst ft team in the league. This is no coincidence. Many of our main players can't shoot.
What do you mean he sold Fertitta on the tank? When Harden forced his way out we had to tank. That was absolutely the right thing to do. People forget that most incompetent teams tank and never stop tanking. It isn't a foregone conclusion that you are back in the playoffs 5 years later like we are. We didn't find the no doubter super star, but that takes more luck than anything else. See the San Antonio Spurs.
The roster is the way it is BECAUSE IT’S THE WAY HE WANTS IT! SAME **** IN BOSTON. Smart-Pritchard Brown-D.White Tatum-Nesmith R.Williams-G.Williams Horford-Theis-Kornet (Fred-)Amen-Reed-Holiday Tari-Okogie Jabari-Tate Durant-DFS Sengun-Adams-Capela Oh wow he didn’t have shooting and Boston and coincidentally doesn’t have shooting in Houston. Oh wow he had 4 centers on the Celtics and coincidentally has 3 centers on the rockets. Oh wow double bigs on the Celtics and coincidentally double bigs on the Rockets. Loaded up on defensive-cant shoot role players with the Celtics and coincidentally defensive-cant shoot role players with the Rockets. Woowwwww. Could it be the head coach?! Didn’t play Pritchard in Boston, took injury to play Reed. Ime Udoka ****ing that woman was the best thing to happen to the Celtics. They wouldn’t have that championship. They’d still be banging their head against the wall with (some combo of) Marcus Smart-Grant Williams-Robert Williams-Daniel Theis lineups Payton Pritchard, Nesmith(traded to Indy), Hauser never would’ve broke out He’s not a top 5 head coach. He’s the Nigerian JVG/Thibodeau. •7/8 man rotations DURING THE REGULAR SEASON (Use your ****ing bench! Oh wait, your bench is filled with the guys who do the same ****(defense) and you get no bench production. Wow! Who could’ve thought?!) •Run your guys into the ground (40 minutes a game) Oh, he doesn’t have Fred! Oh my god! Oh wait, they deem Fred as the best player on a championship team and irreplaceable. No one blames him for Fred’s injury (or at least I don’t) but EVERYONE was asking for another guard before Fred went down. And no, the choice is not “sign another guard and bench Reed” or “don’t sign a guard and play Reed”. Again, use your ****ing bench. There’s room for more than one guard. Acting like the 82-game grind is the NBA Finals with his 7/8 man rotation, playing guys 40 minutes. Play Fred 40 minutes last year. Play 37 year old KD 40 minutes this year. A team that lost Tatum, Jrue & Porzingis has a better record than this guy. Inherited (Jalen Green) Alperen Sengun Jabari Smith Jr. Tari Eason Jae’Sean Tate Acquired under Stone/Ime Kevin Durant Fred VanVleet (Dillon Brooks) Dorian Finney-Smith Josh Okogie Clint Capela Steven Adams Aaron Holiday Jeff Green (Jock Landale) (Reggie Bullock) Drafted under Stone/Ime Amen Thompson Reed Sheppard (Cam Whitmore) The sooner the Rockets move on (both from him, the “Ime players” and some of these other guys), the better. Oh and yes, Stone can go too.
If any aspiration to reach conference final, generally the half court offense has to be top 8. Think it's been true the last 22 years, only a few exception teams like the bubble Lakers, snuck in when they're in the 10-14th range. I don't mind the 'downhill' and some running after a TOs, you get points when you can have him. But it's not something to only base your starting lineup on. The offense can't just be, hey let's have Amen run the fast break and a few guys run with him. Just as I was happy we added a counter of offensive rebound strategy, it should be a tertiary weapon not a primary crutch. Iso only for KD/Sengun makes it predictable, and also just lot of work on those guys. Team has to run actual plays than only rely on a couple's gravity. Regular season is the time to figure out (and try things) and not waste time.
He plays like he's just in the way of everyone else on offense...a hindrance not a contributor. He looks completely lost out there.
Very much a knee jerk reaction when the Rockets are 3rd in the west despite the injuries. It's crazy to completely clean house. I'd change the GM first and then the coach. Also, saying the roster is this way because of Ime is another tired narrative. Stone gets input but makes the final decision so he's accountable.
thompson did not suck. Wish he had made his free throws but he was 20/10 tonight. Sengun, no bench depth and bad coaching lost the game. Not Amen.
