I’m pretty sure Stone and Ime are having a power struggle. Stone knows if he picks up another guard Ime will prefer to play him over Reed and then Reed will be buried on the bench. Stone loves Reed and wants to see him play more so he just decides to not bring in anyone so Ime doesn’t have the option.

•Among those with interest in Middleton, the Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs are said to be at the front of the line for the 34-year-old wing should he be bought out of his contract in Dallas.

•One note on the Mavs — they will not be buying out Tyus Jones, as he's a player they wanted since last offseason.

•The Kings have shown no interest in buying out any of their veteran players this season.

•No deal ever materialized for Ball with the Warriors or Nuggets due to concerns both organizations had with his overall knee health. There are concerns among many league personnel that the former second-overall pick may not play again over concerns with his medical records.

•Upon receiving no interest from other teams around the league, D’Angelo Russell may actually play for the Wizards during the back half of the 2025-26 season.

I'd like to have Anthony. He's not a great shooter, but he's an okay point guard with a decent assist to turnover ratio who's shockingly still only 25 years old. We could do worse. I don't know where his minutes would come from though. I'd hate for Reed to lose any.

    On second thought...

Would rather convert Davison to full contract. But honestly, it doesn't matter as long as the Rockets are committed to using Amen as a PG. If you move Reed into the starting lineup and have another PG back him up, you're basically moving Amen to the wing and benching DFS - both great ideas, but I doubt that's what they want right now.

I have thought Tyus Jones was always a good option as a backup PG. Better than Holiday or JD Davison for sure. I do share some of the fear that Ime would play Jones over Sheppard, but I am hoping we are past that point in Reed’s development.

A very good option, but again, only if a combination of Reed/Tyus moves Amen to the wing, moves DFS to the bench, and puts an end to Ime's oops-all-forwards lineup. But what are the odds that Ime will bench DFS for 6'0 Tyus Jones?

Look at the shooting numbers for KD, Bari, Tari, even Okogie. Imagine how great our offense would be with someone to consistently set them up. That was the vision with Fred. Have to get back to that.

Tyus Jones seems to be a high assist low turnover guys with limited defense and his shooting is down this year. I don't mind signing him at all because our turnovers are simply too much. He won't be worse than JD in the doghouse.

Cole Anthony would be better than Jones at this point. At least he still looks like an NBA player.
