Well, we no longer have a joint terrorism task force, a bunch of FBI agents are loaned out to DHS for immigration work, the National Security Council is run by idiots, any military officer who even thinks about anything but the most optimistic scenario is sent to pasture, Jared effin' Kushner is our point man in diplomatic negotiations, other countries have probably cut us off from intelligence sharing because we can't be trusted, we have a compromised head of national intelligence and a drunk in charge of the Department of Defense who only likes to swing kettle balls, berate officers, play with million dollar toys, and impress his friends. Finally, we have the most ignorant man to ever sit in the White House surrounded by a bunch of sycophants who is crashing in the polls and haunted by his criminal and depraved past while facing a wave election. And none of these folks can think beyond a single news cycle, much less consider strategic options. On top of that, none of them give a damn about anything but money and staying out of jail.

Lindsay Graham is outlining pretty clearly what the regime hopes is the best case scenario that because of these strikes there were will be thousands in the streets demanding a regime change and a coupe of some sort forced the Ayatollah to flee the country. And this is a quick regime change “win” for Trump and his ego.

I think the opposite is the case. Misssile strikes in Tehran are probably more likely to keep Iranians OFF the streets rather than to come out and protest in mass.
