we’ll see. Since the All Star break, he’s been averaging over 17 ppg in just 26 minutes. Extrapolated to 36 minutes, that’s around 22 points. I just don’t think it’ll be much of an issue for him to eventually hit around 25 if he keeps developing and we give him the reigns.
I think Reed needs to improve his ability to get down hill and provide more rim pressure... But I think for the type of player he is, he isnt going to be able to do that with two non shooters on the court. Also, the minutes. For instance this past Orlando game when he was mostly playing with only one non shooter he had 7 drives. Also, besides spacing I think on this team he's been coached to shoot threes at a high rate because thats what they need from him. Interestingly enough his fg% on drives is higher than Amen's and he only avgs 2 less driving field goal attempts than Amen in about 13 less minutes. Of course Amen draws fould more, but even with that he average only 3 more points than Reed per game from driving....which is kinda crazy when you think about it. I also think that with more minutes, longer leash and growth he's capable of being a three level scorer and putting pressure on defenses from everywhere.
When you’re as much of a threat to the point other teams doesn’t let you get the ball behind 3 …need to pump fake and draw fouls
