Read my comments in the game threads of the OKC and first 3-4 games of the season Its pretty hateful **** on Reed But I learned my lesson and saw this kid just needs to be given some free reign He may just be a super solid role player but he sure as hell makes this team better
Been a fan since the beginning. Right now, if he had skipped the draft, he would be a junior in college. Think about that. All he needs is floor time. The more he gets, the more he improves. Will he be a STAR? I wouldn't rule it out, but he can help the team right now.
Emphasis on "perceived defensive limitations". The Amen-stans here constantly tout his all-world defense, but it's pretty easy for opponents to lose him through switches. Suddenly he's off in the corner with OG Anunoby while Jalen Brunson is cooking us. That's why the vast majority of DPOY awards have gone to centers and PFs - they form the backbone of great defenses, not perimeter defenders. The truth is that Amen's limitations on offense far outweigh Reed's limitations on defense.
Never doubted him...just wanted him to shoot with confidence and more, but never thought he would bust like a bunch of fans did early (and probably still think so).
In 12 games playing at least 30 minutes: 20.0 points (.479 / .442 / .788 = 62% TS) 3.3 rebounds 4.1 assists (1.6 turnovers) 2.1 steals 1.2 blocks Ime, please.
I'm trying to remember the game where Amen came off the bench and took over and made it clear to the universe that he should never start on the bench again. i think it was against the Celtics? Sometimes a player just has to make it obvious.
I think he can be a superstar or I should say, an all-star level player. That is a player that makes 2 or more all-star games, definitely can do that. If he averages what he has post all-star break he'd be . They just have to give him opportunity to grow and patience to grow. He deserves as much of a chance to be a franchise guy as Jalen had or Sengun, his offensive potential is super high right now... but yeah the point is, he helps the team RIGHT NOW, there is no reason to not treat him like a featured player right now. It sucks Jabari got hurt, especially since he was playing so well, hopefully just a sprain that keeps him out a week or two, but I do hope that Reed shows he's the potential starting guard for this team because he has to do it before FVV comes back next year. When FVV comes back next year he has to make it impossible for Ime to play FVV over him, they either share the court and minutes or Reed has to be getting more time simply because the organization believes it is what is best for the future of this team. My biggest fear is he either won't be given the opportunity (right now he is) or that he'll stumble some as all young players do and next season he'll be glued into a backup guard role while FVV plays the most minutes on the team again.
I always said in the beginning his lack of size, length, height, and athleticism will be a holding him back unless he gets stronger physically and mentally, becomes more aggressive, and grow confindence and balls we know what Reed can do. It's time fof Ime to put Reed in the best situations to succeed and his teammates to support him
It’s pretty safe to say he’s our 2nd best option, yes over Alpi, and he makes everything easier for KD and Alpi. In a game we were going to lose by a lot he showed what he’s capable of…absolutely busting a game wide open.
just start him who goes to the bencch Jabari Tari or Amen don't care https://www.nba.com/stats/players/a...5&StarterBench=Starters&dir=A&sort=NET_RATING
When they drafted Reed 3rd overall the writing was on the wall that there was a FVV exit strategy. I hope that Ime does the right thing and gives Reed a real shot to start next year. FVV is a salty little turd whose whole legacy is defined by a funny post game interview where he cursed out a referee. Nice knowing ya…
same. I don’t remember myself being so back-and-forth on a player. Sometimes I see an All-Star, sometimes I see at best a steady starter on the Hsinchu Lions of the Taiwan Basketball League…
