Because he’s 37 years old with a surgically repaired Achilles. You want Durant to come here and be a closer. You don’t want him to have to be your best and most consistent all around player. Durant’s supposed to be filling Green’s role, not Sengun’s. But that’s what happens when your GM can’t draft or trade for marquee young talent. The Spurs have Wemby. The Mavs have Cooper. We have a franchise player who can’t shoot or defend.
Stone doesn’t develop players exclusively. He grows and builds them up etc but the physical development is the responsibility of the training staff and development coaches. They report to the head coach about progress and deficiencies. The head coach prescribes a plan for development.
Stone got us to 2nd seed from ground zero in just 4 yrs. We are currently 3rd in the West despite losing FVV and Adams. How is Stone ass? You got zero clue just like that other dude.
Exactly. Reed knows more about playing basketball than Stone who tf expects the GM to develop the players???
This is likely true, because talking heads were already speaking about Reed not being on the floor down the stretch. So these last couple of games with him on the floor are a night and day turn around for the fourth quarter of that Knick game. The Thompson injury may have pushed it even further since he HAD to play Reed and since Reed played well.
I have been a big supporter of Udoka and he deserves credit for changing the culture - but Udoka doesn’t deserve any credit for this game.
Well its def irritating to see limited posters who say Stone has been doing a bad job when they think 2020 is almost 8 yrs ago.
With all due respect... i beg to differ... Everybody on here was all yippy skippy about tanking and following "the process".... (personally not a fan - drafts are crapshoots) we tanked... Stone took consensus bpa for lotto pix... made nice pick w Alpi... Jalen was looking like an underachiever... nobody anticipated Brooks exploding... Last season it looked like we were a closer away... I think KD has lived up to that role - but he's been asked to do a lot more... we've just still got guys developing... bari, reed.... i dont think this team is nearly the dumpster fire that many on here are making it out to be... lol
I referenced this in another post but to summarize. The front office is in charge of the coaching staff. If the coaching staff isn’t meeting their intent and they are still employed, that’s on the front office.
sometimes you just have to clean house. Like Dobizzle I wasn't a big Morey fan but Morey had an identity and weny by the data, getting stabbed in the back by Stone shows he probably isn't the guy going forward. I don't think all the blame goes on Stone but he's part of the fall guy crew
