Amen is a S tier defender and a S tier slasher but his handle and jump shot hold him back from being an all star
I am a huge Amen fan, but watching Alpi destroy the Magic in the post and KD able to go 1v1 as he liked was just incredibly refreshing. I am absolutely not against Amen in a big closing role sometimes, but the space today let us practically score at will—and the Magic are typically a very good defensive team in the clutch, especially in Feb. Spacing matters. Defense is awesome but you need to put the biscuit in the basket too. Hope Jabari gets a good rest and heals up soon. He helped space the floor a ton today as well.
Magic been painful to watch for many years now as bad as the Rockets can be, if I had to watch that every night my eyeballs would take to me to court to ask the judge for a restraining order
Had to step away from the game and came back to the Rockets doing Rockets things and getting down in the game... then was able to see that 21-0 run... man. Also we need a board feature in these threads that marks the time remaining in the game when a post is made, so if we come to the thread after the game we can follow along!!!
Reed can be a superstar I truly believe it...but the organization needs to treat him like he has the potential to be one...and not like the best he can be is some role player...treat him like the #3 pick that he was.
Udoka has a longer extension than Stone lol. So Stone is at fault when Udoka got extended by the owner? Why we even have separation between coaching and front office if you blame everything bad on Stone and credit every good thing to Udoka? You have such a big bias against Stone now you are even blaming him for coaching mistakes and roster development. What a joke! I guess when a player misses a shot its Stone's fault too cuz he drafted or traded for him? Why is Reed only 6'1 and not 6'6? Oh its Stones fault cuz he drafted Reed amirite?
Rockets were down 75-54...then Reed got subbed in and played the remainder of the game and the Rockets never looked back....
My guy had 4 stocks in his limited time tonight, yet, he's been accused of being nonexistent in defense.
If you people believe in meritocracy then why do you keep complaining about him not getting playing time. Facts are facts. He played like crap last year and was sent to g league to develop. What do you think g league is for? What do you think practice and scrimmages and having development coaches are for? He played well beginning of the year then went 30% in 3’s last 20 games with multiple bad plays on both ends each game before this hot 3 game streak yet was still given an opportunity to play and develop. JD and holiday barely played. The coaching staff has let him play and developed him all year. Not sure what all this protest and anger is about. Eventually i believe we will see him start late in the season before the playoffs. Sometimes the best players with most potential are developed more carefully than the rest.
Sengun deserves an apology. He's going against the coach and his own clogging team plus the 5 defenders waiting for him in the paint.
I'm going to need proof I'm afraid. His shooting numbers say "shouldn't be in the league" and one season of decent defense doesn't make up for what appears to be a super athletic dude who never actually learned all the basic fundamentals of basketball. He's WAY worse than Jalen in terms of his actual skills, he's just bigger and more athletic so he can out muscle a lot of guys and make you all think he's actually a good defender. Good defenders don't have games like that one I just watched from "eViL TwIN"
