Hahaha...Truth! It was good, not great, and for what it was, it filled the void and helped us prep/yearn for the HoD this summer. I will rewatch again to see what I missed, as I do not remember the scenes of Dunk getting repeatedly backhanded by Ser Arlin, as I know they talked about it, but then go back to that memory a lot. I wish they spent more time on the fight and on the earlier development of Dunk and Egg. Also, why Dunk was never knighted, but comes across as he is...

Ho boy, I started watching this yesterday and almost gave up halfway through episode 3. I'm glad I finished the episode because that's when something finally happened. I was worried it was going to be a Rogen-fied GOT with the constant poop and genitals vulgar humor. They should stop with that, it adds nothing but disgust for the show.

Episodes 4-6 were actually good. How many episodes is the season? Are there enough to fill another arc?

Alas, there are only 6 episodes in the season. You'll have to wait for season 2 like the rest of us.

IMO, 6 episode seasons are usually the sweet spot, not the problem. Sometimes 8-10 eps are more appropriate.

The problem is the 2-3 year gaps between seasons. I don't understand why the gaps are so large when the episode count is low.

I liked it enough to give House of Dragons another try. Too slow, though wonderfully filmed. A good build up can pay huge dividends, but only having 6 episodes makes you feel cheated. Like I put up with almost 3 episodes of slog and I only get 3 more good ones? And now I gotta wait AT least a year for another season... grr

I thought is was good, but was not a fan of the pacing. My biggest complaint though, was that they cut out half of what should have been the best episode and replaced it with a flashback. I'm sure it was for budget reasons, but I really would have liked to have seen the middle part of that episode.

from what I understand, the fight in the show was actually longer than how it is in the book
