Only 4 games behind Warriors with 16 to play. Warriors went 3-5 in their last 8 games while Rockets went 8-0. So they caught up 5 games in their last 8!
Was looking for Scottie Pippen video of him quitting on the Bulls during the playoffs and saw this...
You can win a lot of games in the NBA on sheer talent. Likewise you can win lots of game with a great system and inferior talent. But to win championships, you need star-level players PLUS a viable system in place. Currently the Rockets offense looks so discombobulated. They have elite talent, they play solid defense. But they looked confused in offensive sets. The lack of a viable point guard is definitely a key part of the issue. I’m hoping that either Reed figures it out, or VanVleet gets back this season; because Amen is being handcuff at PG (he’s definitely not a PG in my opinion).
Didn't do anything back then, and won't do anything now, unless Fvv comes back, which is a long shot. Even if he comes back it'll be in late March. Does he have enough games to get in basketball shape right before the playoffs? Probably not. High risk of getting injured again.
It was right around that time I realize that the NBA decided that WWE was a viable business model (the warriors were the NBA darlings, err “cash cow”). Wasn’t that the year Morey hired an independent firm to analyze all the foul calls and the 3rd party verified what we saw with our eyes, fouls favored the Warriors by a whopping 70-80%. With as big as sports betting has gotten, I don’t fathom the NBA would risk that level of favoritism again. Last thing they need is congressional investigations.
Post season success I the only result the rockets ain’t winning a series like this worst offense in modern nba history
The one thing I'll say for our current squad is that last year we were worse than our record, i.e. we won a bunch of close games that could easily have gone the other way. And this year we're better than our record, i.e. we've lost a bunch of close games that could easily have gone the other way. The obvious answer to that is: well, the job is to win, and last year we were clutch, and this year we aren't. But in the playoffs last year, it turned out that our overperformance in regular-season crunch time did not translate to playoff crunch time. So I'm not gonna assume that our underperformance in crunch time this season will doom us in the playoffs. Let's just win enough games to avoid hitting the Thunder if we get to Round 2. And aside from that, let's do what we can to improve our efficiency on both sides of the ball, and see if that pays off in the playoffs.
This is far too reasonable and objective a perspective. I bet AI can help you spice it up with some hyperbolic arrogance, misspellings, vague ethnic statements, and a GIF of Hulk Hogan or large breasts.
I'm going to need you to dial that back. Clutchfans is no place for calm, well reasoned, rational, grounded posts. Where are the hot takes? Where is the sky is falling content? You didn't demand that Ime be fired once. You didn't mention burner accounts. You didn't demand we trade somebody for peanuts. You should be banned, sir.
