Trump never learns does he? Putin's promises never last, and Trump falls for them over and over and over. Trump loves Putin so much, and like a battered wife, who stands by her abuser, regardless of how evil he is, Trump doesn't want to leave the bromance. Trump says he personally asked Putin not to attack Kyiv amid brutal cold "I personally asked President Putin not to fire on Kyiv and the cities and towns for a week during this ... extraordinary cold," Trump said during a Cabinet meeting at the White House. "A lot of people said, 'Don't waste the call. You're not going to get that.'" the Republican U.S. president said of his request of Putin. "And he did it. And we're very happy that they did it." Severe frost is expected to hit Ukraine in early February, with temperatures in some areas dropping to minus 30 degrees Celsius (minus 22 Fahrenheit), the State Emergency Service warned. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/...ked-putin-not-to-attack-kyiv-amid-brutal-cold Wow, a week of not bombing people in the winter without any heat! How humanitarian of Putin, even if it happens.
Ukraine for December 2025 reported 35,000 Russian KIAs ... not casualties ... kills. Ukraines says that the kills are verified via drone video. Ukraine thinks that they can get the KIAs / month up to 50,000 in 2026 ... 600,000 for the entire year. For perspective, the Russians have had about 1.2 million casualties in the first four years of the war ... with maybe 400,000 KIAs (1 kill per 3 casualties). I previously had not thought that the Ukraines could win the Ukraine Russian War on their own terms, with the likely outcome being a negotiated peace ceding land to Russia. Now I am not so sure. Ukraine might be able to dictate some of the terms of a peace deal. We will see.
Ah, remember the good old days when we helped democracies who were being bullied from Murderous Dictators
Big props to all the Putin Piss boys who said Ukraine was doomed the second kompromat Epstein b**** Trump took over. Sorry Armchair Generals , Russia still hemorrhaging men 4 years into their 3 day war. They gained a few squares miles of rubble this year and are up to 1.2 million casualties -that is World War 2 level of losses. Talk about national suicide, I know we are committing it with Trump Putin Epstein axis but that's the accelerated plan - to kill all of your adult men. For no reason. It's sad bc with a President Harris, Russia would be spent by now, unfortunately you get Epstein-Putinist **** sticks like JD Vance, @glynch calling the shots and it just ends up killing more of Russias strategic reserve of Alcoholic wife beaters for a few acres of frozen land Sad!
"Piss boys" ? Maybe you should see a urologist. It never enters his mind that Ukraine could be exaggerating. Sadly Sam is highly susceptible to mainstream media consumption. He will continue to assume that Ukraine is winning until continually it did not win. I assume he thought that we were winning spectacularly in Afghanistan until not. The mindset of the liberal war mongers is interesting. In some ways they are as as immune to facts or opinions outside their closed world as the Trumpers are when it comes to support for America's endless wars and militarism..
U.S. seizes another Russian shadow fleet tanker. https://newsukraine.rbc.ua/news/us-seizes-russian-shadow-fleet-tanker-in-1770652552.html According to Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR), the Aquila II is part of Russia’s shadow fleet and is affiliated with Sunne Co Limited, a company under US sanctions. The tanker has been actively involved in exporting sanctioned Russian oil from ports in the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea. Weird. Leftists have told me for years that Trump is a Russian actor. Odd how he is taking aggressive action against their shadow fleet which funds their government - something sleepy Joe would never dare do.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...starlink-access-deactivated-elon-musk-space-x Ukraine said last week that Starlink terminals being used by Russian troops had been deactivated after talks between its defence minister and Elon Musk, whose company SpaceX operates the satellite network. Ukrainian officials said the move had already begun to affect Russian operations, including the use of drones. Moscow had come to rely on thousands of contraband Starlink terminals smuggled into Russia, often through central Asia, to keep units connected along the frontline. The system allowed Russian forces to coordinate movements and drone strikes in areas where military radios were unreliable or easily jammed. Funny how leftists on here claim Trump/Trump aligned actors like Musk are Russian stooges/acting in the interest of Russia but they never actually do anything to materially help or support Russia and continue to materially aid and support Ukraine. Completely delusional.
five year after its invasion of Ukraine, The Ukraine War Could Mean the Russian Economy Collapses Putin’s Next Ukraine War Problem – Economic Challenges Keep Coming Putin’s Desperate Plan to Prevent a 1990s-Style Economic Collapse Can Defense Production Be Sustained at The Current Level? Sooner or later the damage being done will become irreparable, and Russia will face a future with little chance of rebuilding its shattered military.
@Space Ghost This is the purpose of the war mongering. It doesn't matter that Ukraine is still the underdog, Russia is suffering because of Putin's pursuit of restoring Russian "glory".
Actually you have it mostly right. The purpose of the Ukraine War was to lure Russia into a war that our war mongerers of both parties wanted to weaken Russia. They have been celebrating the Russian war in Afghanistan for many years. Sadly the fate of ordinary Ukrainians or certainly ordinary Russians too is not really important. Many Americans have gone along with this war as they have done with all of or recent wars in the Middle East as brainwashed by most mainstream media.
Russia attacked Ukraine. We had nothing to do with it. Something had to be done in Afghanistan after 9-11
With all due respect that is an incredibly simplistic review of our and the West's history post WW2 with Russia, and the goals of the so-called "war mongers." Much of our foreign policy post WW2 driven by Truman that led to our actions in Vietnam, and the Cold War were directly instructed by Robert McNamara who was the chief leader who drove the policy of protecting the world from "Communism" which that policy later evolved into still having a policy of protecting the West against Russia, and Russia's expansionism to regain their post WW2 Soviet power. Yes that policy led to political positions ON BOTH SIDES. There have been political leaders such as Obama in 2008 which rejected the policy and the politics that are derived from our history. Even W Bush prior realized that a shift in politics and policy post the fall of the Soviet Union was in order. However what we have found out over the years, and Bush & Obama found out quickly is that while the challenges to the world that was the rise of Communism isn't an issue today, the challenges of ONE SINGLE DICTATOR WITH NUKES and a ton of money to corrupt leaders around the world who was willing to murder any and everyone to restore Russia to it's glory days.... Is a new and VALID threat. The threat is not the ideology and political expansion of communism... it's the expansion of corruption, power, and violence through cult of personality. Most people objectively know that the Russian people aren't the threat... the threat is Vladamir Putin and the corrupt ecosystem that is prone to breeding brutal dictators who reject democratic means, and embrace brutal 1930's fascistic approaches to governing. (the same could also be said in the near future about the threat of Trump vs the threat of the United States as a whole. Meaning the person at the top is more of the problem than the country as a whole, and its constitution, etc.) ... So I respectfully reject your premise because pigeon holing our McNamara policy & politics into the threat of tyranny, corruption, and violent expansionism is not valid. I know you've read and followed Noam Chomsky and others for years so I am unlikely to deprogram your sympathies to the Soviet Era that blind your viewpoint of this argument, but please try a little bit harder to take a step back and view things a little more objective. Putin invading Ukraine is bad, and dangerous for the world. The West, the UN, NATO, and yes The US etc. should all work together to ensure that tyrants invading their neighbors does not become a thing again in the 2020's. They should do that by not putting NATO boots on the ground but they can support Ukraine to be able to protect itself, and ensure that Ukraine afterwards does not become another militarized threat itself, but is part of the EU alliance and a part of a thriving democratic West.
Oh and lastly.... The UN, NATO, West, and the US should also be doing everything they can to encourage diplomatically, using economics, business, trade, etc. to influence Russia to come back to the civilized world, and reject 1930's style fascism. The world would be better with a functioning thriving democratic Russia... AS WOULD IT WITH A DEMOCRATIC UNITED STATES... .which right now is as big of a threat to the world as Russia is.... Because of Trump... not because of the American people as a whole, and our Constitutional government structure and democratic ideology.
Talking about avoiding simplicity and being deprogrammed. Actually like most Americans I had and still have little sympathies for the "Soviet Era". You fail to recognize that the "Soviet Era" is over. Gorbachev and Yeltsin even wanted to join NATO in a peaceful Europe. We helped countries like Poland avoid currency crises and other economic problems in the transition from the Soviet economic system to capitalism. We deliberately did not help Russia. After abut 10-15 years of near total economic collapse with a spectacular decline in life spectancy. Putin, major warts and all, stepped forward and largely seized control from corrupt oligarchs, who were often in collusion with the West ,and at least righted the economy somewhat which is why Putin became popular. I suggest you read some Jeffrey Sachs on this issue as he helped with the Poland transition and was personally very shocked when the US government told him soon after the Berlin Wall fell, there would be no similar help for Russia as they were still to be treated as the enemy. Sachs is the famous Harvard economist who used to appear in the NYT and the rest of the mainstream media. Shortly after the Fall of the Wall, , our hawks and oligarchs had a panic over a fear of possible "peace dividend" for Americans. Sadly the folks who control our country cannot make much money off of health education and welfare for average American -- at least not as much as with defense stock based largely on no cost plus contracts, ofter with only one or two suppliers.
It's the 4th Anniversary of Russia's Special Military Operation, which means it's been 1,460 days since the planned three day victory.
