Clingan and Castle may end up better than Reed, but honestly it’s too early to know yet. Ime isn’t playing Reed enough to know. We need to see him playing 30 minutes over a sustained period of time to truly know how good he is. I’m frustrated that it looks like we won’t find out in year two, while those other guys are playing increasingly larger roles for their teams. It’s one of my biggest frustrations with Ime. If we aren’t contenders this year, at least find out what we have in our #3 pick. Maddening.

 

They didn’t even bring in Clingan for a workout but I am sure castle and clingan would both be ruined on this team or mismanaged

 

One irony about not drafting Clingan is that he’s probably the best offensive rebounder in the league not named Steven Adams. Think about the backup center contract value we have, as well as the Adams injury risk. That’s $20 mil in long-term backup center money. We could have had Sengun/Clingan and never had to worry about Center depth, with huge cost savings and the big upgrade in rim-protection. Again, Reed may turn out better, but Clingan’s floor was always much higher.

Exactly. There's an alternate universe where we take Clingan and Spurs take Reed. Reed would've won ROY playing 36 mpg on a bad Spurs team and taken another step this year to be viewed as a future star. Meanwhile, Clingan is limited to picking up the scraps of playing time that Jock Landale left behind and never develops as Splitter is utilizing him in Portland.

 

Clingan and Reed seemed like the best available to me. Castle has been a lot better than I expected, but I think his performance is heavily improved by having Wemby on his team.

I still like Reed long-term and have no issue with the pick. Though, January really worries me that he'll be up and down.

 

Castle is playing like a maniac as well. Oh well. Spilled milk.

 

If Clingan can shoot 3s he is the best player in their class.

But tbh I think our dev coaching team is trash tier so Clingan would prob be ruined here while Reed will look like Curry Jr on some other team. Our entire coaching staff needs to be fired IMO. I think them working out with DFS is the reason his shot went away as well. DFS has been shooting 38% the last 5 yrs the Rockets handle his recovery suddenly he is an 24% 3 pt shooter lol.

 

I think Clingan would be a great fit NEXT to Reed. That PnR would be absolutely a cheat code.

I went back in the Delorean and talked the Rockets into drafting Clingan, but as I came back to the present I found that the Rockets only play him 10 minutes a game and everyone on here was asking why they didn't draft Reed when they had the chance, who by the way is scoring 25 ppg with the Hornets (the team that ended up drafting him) and they have a winning record.

So I went back again to 2024 and changed everything back. You're welcome
