Either this team is in a deep slump or they are not as good as we thought they were. They are making silly mistakes that March/April teams don't make.
Coogs have zero halfcourt offense. It's been a problem for about a decade. If they're not hitting 3s or creating points via turnovers or getting offensive rebounds they have no offense.
They're not as good. The cracks have been showing for a while now. They need a much more experience or to change schemes.
This is looking like the most disappointing season in the Sampson era. Every year was basically momentum-building, moving forward, even the early seasons. This feels like a backslide year. Bound to happen at some point. Besides the terrible, terrible offense, there’s just a lack of effort I don’t think I’ve seen from a Sampson team.
We just dont have that offensive hub to carry us when shots arent falling like we did with jwan. Cant score if we arent turning over teams. Whatever. Lets just hope for the best and enjoy the ride.
They have 2 of the most experienced guards in the nation and one of the best freshman. At some point, on offense, you have to stop blaming the players.
I'm focusing more on the defense. I expect the offense to have problems, but they're rotating at a half step behind and sometimes a full step behind where they need to be. It's too complicated of a system that relies on so many freshmen and transfers.
I'm still plugged in for this season but i cant help but wonder just how weird next seasons team will be. You're probably looking at replacing 4/5 starters, maybe all 5 of them. Transfer class is going to have be elite to keep this thing rolling.
They are not who we thought they were. I am starting to wonder if the coach's "intense screaming" style really works with the current generation. The players don't seem moved by it. Against ISU they played hard and generally effectively. But against AU and Kansas, they looked subpar.
