I'm still not selling my timeshare in coog island This is a very good team that can beat anyone, just a very thin bench. You're not making it far with your bench player missing the entire first half with foul trouble. Have to be better about keeping the starting 5 clean. This is a really good arizona team even minus koa peat. They are like our teams from years past where it was rebounding and 2nd chance points. Salute to them they were the tougher team. A little bit of cope sure but i think we're still golden.
arizona still has iowa state and kansas b2b the path is there for us to sneak into a big 12 title. starts with taking care of kansas tho
Thought they had a chance with Arizona missing Koa, but, oh well - that's a really good team even without him, I guess.
I think our guys are neither fast enough nor smart/experienced enough to properly execute the defensive rotations. It's really hurting against teams that can make the quick extra pass and/or offensively rebound. I wish coach would be more flexible with his trap approach or it'll be a tough tourney. If he doesn't change, then the only hope would be for our guys to improve internally faster.
Sharp’s field goal percentage is better overall than last season, though his three percentage is down. Uzan is shooting worse than last year : .453 to .383 (.428 to .340 from three). He was missing wide open shots yesterday.
its a must win if you care about reg season titles, and you should care about those. things kinda worked out in that both kansas and iowa state dropped a game. both still have arizona on the schedule. the chance to sneak into a big 12 title is still there. its arizona's title to lose but we can help ourselves by beating kansas tomorrow. as for a one seed, win the big 12 and make it to the conference tournament title game and you likely earn one. still a lot to play for.
Coogs inexplicably didn't look "ready" against Arizona with a week to prepare. Maybe, virtually no time to prepare will suit them better. We are about see how much pride they have by how hard and smart they play.
Think I may have overreacted after Sat's loss to Ariz. Polls out today have us 5 in AP and 4 in Coaches poll. We can still get a one seed if we win tonight and win the rest of our regular season games. What matters is that we win and how we win. It starts tonight at Kansas. I will be surprised if CKS does not have them ready to put forth everything they have to win this game.
Whoever wins the B12 will get a 1 seed. Whichever of AZ Hou Isu finishes 2nd and makes the conf tournament final may also get one, or the best #2
If we lose today and underwhelm in the tourney, I worry that the 2 seed is in jeopardy. For me, a 1 or 2 is fine as long as we get the South region, because I think that's our best chance of repeating a deep run. None of it matters if our players can't execute the scheme or basic box outs, or can't score in crunch time like always. The first two problems are new problems this season, which is why I'm not as optimistic in this team as in years past. Things that could help us are HCA with the South region, rapid internal improvement from an execution standpoint, and internal offensive crunch time excellence from our talented freshmen.
I think the last 10 days and the next week are really important for UH - win or lose because it is letting the younger players know what to expect tournament time.
Same mistakes that resulted in the last two losses. A third is incoming without changes. Scoring droughts, no movement, defensive breakdowns.Let Kingsley get going. And Sharp needs to find the range. If not, three in a row.
