NBA coaches just polish already skilled players. They are less responsible for teaching them fundamentals they should already have (e.g., dribbling and shooting). Most players get personal coaches for that.

Anyways...Stone said last offseason 'we are not a developmental team anymore' when he traded Cam Whitmore to the Wizards. It's about putting the best players on the floor to win games rather than give unearned minutes to young players for so called 'development.'

 

Stop this nonsense about changing a coach “too quickly.” The Boston Celtics moved on from Ime Udoka after just one season in 2023, and they won the championship the following year. Mark Jackson was fired after three seasons, and the dynasty formed right after.

There’s no such thing as “you can’t make a coaching change this quickly when the team has been on an upward trajectory for two years.” If it’s not the right fit, it’s not the right fit.

I’d rather have fast success like Joe Mazzulla than stick with one team for over 20 years like Jerry Sloan and never win a championship.

The defensive rating numbers completely refute the Reed too bad defender narrative and the offensive numbers especially when he's on the court make it malpractice to play a guy averaging 1-2ppg on like 20% shooting over him.

 

No they didn’t dude. Mazulla lost to the Heat in conf finals in 2023. They only won in 2024 (2 years later) because they went out and got a rim protector stretch 5 Porzingis and Jrue who was an upgrade over smart. That team played 5 out and iso ball and they shot teams out of games.

Mazzula’s celtics play heavy iso and they’re one of the top iso teams in the league since he’s been the head coach. Many top teams play iso relying on their stars to score or create and dish. The Rockets issue as mentioned ad nauseum is lack of spacing due to non shooters.

 

What you’re saying isn’t factual. they lost to the Knicks for several reasons. You can’t say because the reason they lost was because they didn’t play Sheppard. There’s no evidence or basis for that statement. They lost due to turnovers, poor shot selection, and they couldn’t get key defensive rebounds or stop brunson.

 

Firstly, that’s not true that they only rely on iso offense. We saw how a G league celtics team humiliated Ime once again. Secondly, even when he was in boston fans would scream that the offense was stagnant due to his weird lineups.

They lost because they have steaming pile of **** as head coach named udoka who:
1. Didn’t bench DFS despite bricking a 3, bricking a layup, and getting smoked by KAT on defense
2. The turnovers were a result of ime only having one decent offensive player on the floor named durant whom they gaurd on the perimeter
3. Wasted a timeout on a clear offensive foul instead of saving it for the final shot to where durant wouldn’t have to take a 41 footer
