He came back a week early, in the post game when he came back he mentioned Ime asked him to come back early..
If Ime asked him to come back early, he should be fired. Of course, he should be fired anyway as soon as a better coach becomes available.
he was distributing too well and had goot shooting % The only thing that would make this disgraceful coaching remotely palatable is if Reed fcks Udoka's next 4 GFs in front of his cuck ass
Theres no other explanation other than Ime is not a great coach. Without two guys like Tatum and Brown who can cover for his ineptness he's showing that hes just a mediocre coach at best. Somewhere in the thibbs category.
TBF knicks were getting Brunson switched onto Reed forcing the rockets to double everytime. Reed should of been there but let’s not act like rockets had to play a while different defensive s scheme when he was in there
Rockets were plus 11 in Reed minutes. Who cares if they were playing a different defensive scheme? God forbid ime has to actually coach and scheme things up around a player having an otherwise positive impact. Meanwhile down the stretch imes switch everything wings got torched by Brunson.
Correction: the Celtics underachieved offensively as well. I believe they finished 9th in offensive rating. Their roster was clearly good enough to dominate offense: Tatum, Brown, Horford, White, Grant Willliams. All can shoot. All two way players. Instead, Udoka opted to treat Marcus Smart like he's a franchise player and over played Time Lord (even through injuries). In the Finals, he had the better shooting team than the Warriors but Kerr just knew his weakness. Gave Ime a ton of open 3's but Ime kept trying to force it inside and make it a rugged game. He just could not recognize his advantage (offense) because it's not the advantage he wanted. The following season Mazzula dumped his favorites (Williams and Smart) in favor of more offense. We all know if you had suggested this to Ime, he would pretend as though the defense would collapse. What ended up happening? They just slid from #1 defense to #2 defense without those two "indispensable" defenders of Ime's. On offense they went from 9th to 2nd. Udoka and Stone seeing FVV as a franchise player is reminiscent of how he overvalued Smart. That's our future. Someone is going to come in and improve our offense and our defense will only slightly take a step back. Defense is easy to carry over as long as someone instilled good habits. That's why you often see defensive coaches set the table for a more creative coach to take the mantle and take the team over the hump. It doesn't seem to go the other way around (by my eye test at least).
I agree with your point overall, but just a technical correction: Reed was a 0 on +/-. Still better than DFS who was a -13. I have only seen the highlights so far but it looked like that's who took Reed's spot in the 4th right?
