I really wouldn't call what Amen ahs done playing point guard.

He might bring the ball up but if he doesn't run straight to the rim, he's giving it up to point KD or Sengun who "run the offense" while Amen assumes the dunkers spot the vast majority of the time.

It's kinda like calling PatBev a point guard while playing with Harden, if he did bring the ball up, he gave it to Harden and went and stood in the corner.

There's some advantages in a non KD, non Sengun, to bring up the ball. Allows Sengun/KD get to their spots more quickly. Getting there without dribbling. Also reduces the time other team's best defenser in close contact to the prize (before it being g necessary). And if Amen keeps his TOs low I'm not too mad with it.

That said, there is some advantage that could be lost in that, if players around the 3pt lines
(corner ninjas), are super cold, having them bring it up a few times could help. They get to feel the ball, get some of that energy, help their rhythms. They (Reed, Okogie, an occasional Tari/dfs), can bring it up, pass it to a KD/Sengun/Amen, and if the defense permits, get the ball back for an open 3.

Short spurts, but finding ways for others opportunities to feel the ball (other than just a receiver of a pass) could be a cure to the bad shooting woes. Best to get it right the first time, than constantly having to rely on OFF REB, for more attempts. Our rebounding is a good counter move, but it's also very energy taxing.

Yep. And its usually because when he has the ball up top the defense just sags off and builds a wall.
Theres really not much he can do in those situations besides shoot his middy or give the ball up.

LOL Amen's playmaking is closer to Giannis
    Than PatBev

There's a reason is Amen is 2nd best in assists and 2nd best in ATO ratio on the Rockets

Why do the Rockets give up so many double digit leads? It’s very simple. Ime does not know how to handle rotations. He is the worst in the league, bar none. It is more egregious than his lack of offensive acumen. Last game was a good example. In the first half, the ball was moving, players were setting mulitiple picks off the ball, we were running plays off of ISO. Reed was hot, Amen was roaming and creating mulitple opportunities hitting the offensive boards and tipping the ball out to the perimeter for multiple possessions. We were double teaming Kawhi and making the other players try to beat us. What did he do, benched Reed, inserted Tate, went back to stand around and watch offense, quit doubling Kawhi, KD and his 8 turnovers as PG. The guy is a moron.

its clear that players can outscore oppoonents 3/4ths of the game. If it's a question of running out gas and/or not executing and/or making mistakes which allows opponents to get back then it's the coach. he can pace and rotate his players. he can draw up plays and punish mistakes/bad execution by subbing out.

Worst coach in the league by a significant margin.
