Reed just needs to be aggressive. Not a fan of the soft charmin routine. If he’s open passing up a shot should be a benching
Oh absolutely, I actually think we should be starting him at point myself because his vision and passing show significantly more promise than Amen. I just like reiterating that he's neither generational nor has Ja Morant level hops like some people like to believe lol.
He is, but they never show that right out of the box, the weird thing is your obsession with what I think - I believe I am the only one that said that he is a generational shooter, yet you bring that up -like a badge of honor - it is ok to not agree, why do you care so much what I think? Therapy might be needed for you. DD
They always show that right out the box, that's what generational means "once in a generation." You can't be both generational and not the best in your generation at that thing. He's not even the best in his draft class. Steph is generational, Reed is good.
No they don't look at Nash, he didn't, Mark Price didn't, they all had periods of struggle as they learned the NBA game. I don't know how old you are, but you seem to have takes that are very young - and less ....seasoned. DD
i really can’t believe that number is real. 30% 3 pt last 20 games. The one thing he supposedly specializes in. Disappointing but hope he has a strong second half of the season
Does it seem like Reed has a blind spot? Sometimes a defender will be standing right in the passing lane and Reed throws it right to the defender. It’s like he completely doesn’t see a guy standing 15 feet away. It kinda baffles me.
Neither of those are generational shooters. Great shooters at times? Yes, generational? Not even remotely. It's got nothing to do with age, you just don't understand what the word means and it's actually crazy.
He also had a 9-game stretch within that where he was shooting only 20% from three He misses too many open shots for me to consider him to have "generational shooter" potential, and that's the only way he becomes a superstar given his size and other skills. But I'd argue that even if he just ends up being an above average starter, that will be fine as long as we don't overpay him when he hits free agency.
Maybe DD thinks he will be a generational point guard with his playmaking (Nash arguably was, Price definitely wasn't), but I see that even less than I see the shooting. Reed looks like a combo guard so far, with a chance to maybe develop into a true point guard.
I think he's flashing true PG aptitude for sure. The vision is legit, a lot of his passes have real whip on them and he can thread a needle and skip pass great at times. He just needs to build it up. Now, if he did become a solid 40% shooter AND develop into a true point, then MAYBE he could potentially reach something like "generational" as a super traditional point in a non traditional league. He simply can not be a generational shooter though, he's not even the best in his draft, hell on his team. The form looks super pure so I do genuinely think he can be a 40% great shooter, the PG version of a Korver level shooter which is phenomenal, but he's not generational.
If memory serves, I would say price was more of the generational shooter in Stockton got better on it as it went on in his career. My opinion on Reid is probably irrationally high. I still think the same thing about amen to be promised. I just think it’s gonna take a couple seasons. I think they are perfect to grow alongside each other. I would prefer Reed to take the second most shots on our team.
I do think it's somewhat relative to the era, but Korver and Redick are in Steph's era. They'd easily be generational in MJ's era for example. Bird, though his is probably more of a technicality because nobody was launching them like that. Miller and Ray probably too. I think that's probably the clearest "generational" progression tbh, Reggie-Ray-Steph. I could see the argument for Korver I guess, but not Redick. I just don't see any way Reed's comparable based on his career so far.
Every time Reed starts he gets on a massive slump. We should stop talk of him starting this season no matter how good he plays. I am very happy with Reed's progression this year compared to last year though.
I don't think we're winning **** anyway tbh, give him the reps. Amen is not a PG, he's not even in the realm of it. Reed has some potential so develop him and see if that's a viable Fred replacement, if not we need to do something in the summer.
