I agree. This should be a development year. No way Ime sees it that way and it shows with his decision making. We will continue to run Durant into the ground, Amen will go back to the dunker spot, and Reed will get sporadic minutes as he tries to find the optimum defensive alignment. We are first round fodder unless a miracle happens and Jabari becomes Durant prime or Sengun starts playing like he did the first month of the season. Ime going to Ime.

 

Or by some miracle Amen becomes a 45% three point shooter.

Taking a step back. Just as how the Rockets prep defense against other teams, the opponts will do the same to us.

If against a Denver, Ime makes a call: take away Joker's passing or shooting? Against a pre-Harden Cavs, neutralize Donovan and let their others do it. Spend how many defenders and how much team focus on a Mitchell? Just a Tari.or Amen or more, how many fouls...etc. After which, anything left for their options B and C.

Last night's game, and in Charles Lee's post-game interview, he said defensively, one the main goals is to neutralize Alp. They didn't do a bad job at it. In a close game, Hornets didn't plan b against Rocket's counter of small ball, and didn't really double Kevin Dickerson. Was a close game.

Would I rather all our guys have good individual games; sure. But it's also just awareness that when other team spend major defensive resources on one of our strengths, it'll probably work.

Close games ends up being how good are a team's option C and D against their option C and D. Couple knights and a rook might have to get sacrificed to win the chess game.

Teams saw what the spurs did to us by putting their center on Amen and packing the paint. It shuts down our entire offense. The only solution we have is to bench Amen. Ime won’t do it, so come playoff time first round exit. We might even get swept,

 

This is about the Rockets vs the Hornets game. I'm starting to think that there are 4 members here, that are one person. All they talk about is a burner and hate for KD. The Rockets won, ride or die with this team. That is how I feel!

Sengun needs to consistently play at that level for the organization paying him $33.9 million this year and more in future seasons. If playing high-level international competition in the offseason causes him to wear down quicker in the regular season, then he might need to scale back his participation.

 

yup. it's prolly the most active on defense he's played since he signed with the rockets.

 

If KD was a +15 in that stretch no chance he was a -4 for the game.

Sengun and Reed checked out 5:24, it was a 7pt game. 38-45. The 5 forwards played to halftime with a 1 pt lead.
