Agreed. Team has shown flashes of greatness and lost like 9 games they should have won. FVV is that important to the team. Also gotta be pleased with Reed’s development. Alpy’s shooting can improve, we have seen glimpses of it here and there and hes still only 23. Run it back… yessir

His narratives are interesting in the sense of being relevant enough but also not top contender interesting.

People always think being close is good enough but that last inch at the finish line...only 1 or 2 teams get it right.

Prime GSW did him a favor and got him over the hump, and he was motivated as well.

So true, and I don't think a KD focused offense will work, but Ime has nothing else, it is hard to watch.

lol there's every reason to think he won't be as good next year. He'll be 38! Every player of all time got worse turning 38 and 39.

The better KD does the rest of this season, the more reason to trade him this offseason. We'll be more likely to convince another team to give us real value.

KD will fall off a cliff in the near future, like every player before him. The goal is for him to do it on another team's roster, while we get paid for the privilege of putting him there.

I don't necessarily think he would fall off a cliff but rather glide like those gliding chipmunks.....

I am just not into an aging jump shooter, albeit a great jump shooter......I am even concerned about a certain Curry.

let's hope he keeps up his trade value. we need to add a young piece and some draft capital desperately.

He’s on one year deals. You aren’t getting anything more than than cap relief and a bad rep if you trade him

Trade him. You cant win with him. Black Luka that puts us in situations he has to then bail us out of and everyone seems to fawn over it. Its pretty funny actually how they cant seem to grasp that.

Talk to Silver and see if you can trade him to LA for Austin Reaves and next year's #1 overall pick. Done.

KD next 2 years will only make 40M when the max contract will be 57M and 63M. People talking about trading him because of twitter gate or that he is old have no clue how much of a discount he is giving us. The team has Mark Jackson 2.0 and missing 35M in salary, if we didnt have KD we wouldnt be 4rth seed we would be in the lotto and giving our pick to OKC.

Plus what even is KD's market value? You arent getting a young franchise cornerstone for a 38 yr old cmon get real. KD offers will be low frps and matching salary and a couple of young players with potential. Basically what we traded for him but worse package since he is 38 instead of 37.

I don’t see any realistic scenarios where the Rockets are strong contenders for many years to come. KD is old and our young core is not as good as what other teams have built. Trading KD probably doesn’t improve our chances in the short term and our young core isn’t good enough for the long term to compete with OKC, San Antonio, and others. It is what it is. Most other teams don’t have much of a chance to contend either.

Personally, I don’t really care what they do with KD. I’m just going to watch the games and hope that Reed or maybe Amen can become special. I’m too old to get all tied up in knots over this stuff. If some team wants to give us a fair return for KD, that would be fine.

trade him to charlotte, he already said he'd be better there.

or trade him to minnesota if they'll give up McDaniels.

No. He’s on the last year of his current deal. Next year is the only guaranteed year and then it’s a player option for the second.

If you trade him this summer he’s only on a one year deal

I'd trade him while he still has positive value, but if we keep him we need another ballhandling guard and preferrably one that can shoot. Getting Fred and Adams back plus adding a ballhandling guard and hopefully a development leap for Reed would be nice. Hurts seeing Kon Knueppel be who we thought Reed would be from 3 last night. Why have we got Bari and Reed and then their 3s disappear here??? No guarantee Durant can sustain this level of play next year let alone stay healthy. It is dangerous to keep him another year IMO. I'd trade Durant and Jabari in the offseason. We should be able to get something good for them if we attach some of our picks too.

I would watch a season of KD/DD stranded together on a desert island.

I think if you can get a much younger player who fits and is a little bit worse you do it. You don't do it for the kind of package we gave Phoenix though, which was essentially them trading for depth. That's a good play when you have Devin Booker and no young core or draft capital to build for the future, not so good in our situation though.
