Jabari has all the tools to become a highly regarded player within the league. He’s still young, improving, has a decent shot (though nowhere near as consistent as I thought it would be) and seems to have a great attitude. I’m hoping that as he reaches his optimum playing weight, his shooting will also become elite as he won’t be working as hard to gain strength and can focus on refining his mechanics.
The only way I can live with Bari is if he plays center. He should continue to bulk up, learn to be a goon, and start getting more comfortable around the rim. Between Amen, KD, Tari and DFS, there’s no reason for Bari to play the 4. He could be much more valuable as a spacing 5 who can defend. Just my opinion.
people love to hate. These fans have their minds set on who these players are and already defined and labeled them.
Well, he is also the son to his father and the cousin of Kwame......a historical figure of underachievement. They surely did not provide the tools..... you speak of. Other than growing really tall.
it’s more I don’t want to admit my assessment / take was wrong so I’ll stand by it til my dying breath …which is sad
I don't think he's a starting 5 but ever since the Silas area, him being utilized as a small ball 5 at times is an absolute mismatch that for some reason Ime (until last night) has never wanted to deploy. Jabari shouldn't go off the deep end and add significant weight but an extra 5-10lb would make a huge difference there. He's still valuable being able to switch onto the perimeter at times so I wouldn't want him to gain significant weight.
Observing jabari so far in the past 4 years, he is just a good complimentary player. Not a star and doesn't have the talent to be one. Cannot drinke well nor initiate his own shot. Stiff in finishing around the rim. Not a momentum generator nor a momentum changer. Play well when team's momentum is already running positive/well but gets tense to change the game momentum. The disappointment comes naturally from the high draft 3rd pick (should do more than his current play/production) and thus with all of the above mentioned limitations, he is more suitable as a a good complimentary role player or 6th man.
And I believe he is already the most regarded member of his family, basketball-wise. KD certainly seems to think so, lowkey
He has been play a lot of small ball 5 after Adams went down. Adams averaged 23 mpg. Capela has only increased by 3 mpg without Adams. Sengun's minutes have not increased at all. A big chunk of the Adams minutes must have shifted to Jabari.
I have been wondering what it was like to be called a hater....remind me when he is shooting 32%, we'd be resuming that convo again.
