Yes he is was…but people are delusional that no offensive production would have won. And that is the point. I just watched Sam Darnold get help from his run game. Darnold was average, but his running back was the MVP. Seattle just gave the Texans the blueprint. Have a solid Oline and a running game. Don’t put everything on the QB. The Pats did, and Maye was terrible in that game.

We will agree to disagree there. As a watcher of this franchise's development and growth since 1999, I think Carr and Coleridge are profoundly different people and QBs.

I also think this schtick of Coleridge being dumb needs to stop.

Why does it need to stop?

Posters were saying he was having still trouble making checks/calling out protections in the playoffs after a full season of supposedly learning the offense. If you cant make checks after a full season you tell me what you want me to call that and I will call it whatever you want me to call it.

How many times did Darnold turn the ball over?

Calling Coleridge dumb is just plain wrong. Does he not play his best under pressure? Sometimes (esp. in snow apparently)

But somebody posted several Coleridge plays under pressure during his career and he made some incredible plays as well - including checking into some excellent plays.

I definitely think he was pressing trying to make a play like he had done countless times before when just eating the ball / taking the sack may have been the best move. But gamers want to win and sometimes that involves risk. Prolly not the best move(s) in a snowstorm.

I would also say the indecisiveness (to me) was amplified post-concussion. He really needs to get a full neural evaluation - not one designed to get him back on the field asap.

When we played New England Marks averaged 1.2 yards per carry and Rhamondre Stevenson had 4.4.

In the Superbowl Kenneth Walker III averaged 5.0 yards per carry against the same team Marks struggled against.

Blame CJ for all his turnovers. Blame our offensive line, and blame our RB and coaches as well. Seattle would have kicked our ass!

Darnold had a run game. Darnold led the league in turnovers in the regular season.

Darnold had zero turnovers in the playoffs. That's the difference. Some rise to the occasion, others choke.

It is alot easier to "RISE" to the occasion when you have help. Who was helping CJ on offense?

Would set the franchise back years. He proved we need to wait.

I hope he figures it out, but he’s lost me. I’ll root for him, but I don’t trust him. Putting that faith in him after what he’s done lately is exceptionally foolish. Kick the can another year and pay the tax of “ok he proved it” hopefully. If he continues to not perform or regresses further, you have your out.

That would be a huge mistake! Why not make him prove his worth? Ugh. That's just gross, especially after his chokefest in the playoffs. Just sign a one year extension for now. He's concussion prone and can't run like so many other quarterbacks.

It's hard to help a QB that throws 4 ints in a half and is so inaccurate that he blew his TE's knee out. I'll give you this you're a heck of a fan after what I watched the last 4 games of last season. Kudos

Maybe if he had a run game...and didn't have his 2 best receiving targets hurt, he wouldn't have thrown those 4 INTS.

That concept is far beyond most people on this forum, let's be reasonable here.

Maybe if he had just thrown the ball away he wouldn't have had those ints.
