Bring in Hakeem and Maxwell to remind Gen Z how they overcame adversity and won a chip the next year. Durant is still Finals-MVP level talent. Arguably we didn't even have that with James.
they’ll be offering up Sengun for Giannis in the offseason if Giannis shows interest in the Rockets, the Turkish fanbois will be cheering on the Bucks next year
Obviously it’s important to see what we do in the playoffs, but I don’t want to run it back with Fred, Steveo, two older guys coming off injury, and 38 yr old internet troll Kevin Durant. We need to get back to team building so we can sustainably compete with the best. I don’t mind keeping Fred on the team, but let’s dispense with this idea of building around Fred.
Yeah but instead we're going to be arguing with half of Greece that Janice aint **** compared to Dream lol
We need to get rid of KD asap. Sit him so he doesn't get injured, then pack him for a bag of peanuts. If he do not deny the ownerhsip of those accounts and say how much he loves his teammates and trusts them, he has no business in this team. Last year we were not that much of a capable team but there was chemistry. This year we are not a capable team and there is no chemistry.
They say the two best days in a basketball fan’s life are the day their favorite team acquires Kevin Durant and the day they dump Kevin Durant.
I’d keep him. you might be to the point then where you have to choose between Sengun and Amen But you are going to get to that point regardless. would I trade him? Sure if the offer was right, but I am still a believer that having him on the team opens up a window for us, however, narrow over the next few years. I also think that Sengun Eason Durant Amen Reed could be a very reliable starting lineup at this point next year. I think you can deal with two non-shooters in the lineup as long as you have one of two things. You either need a very inventive offensive coach, which we currently do not have or you need three elite shooters around the two people. And that we can offer up. there is also a small chance that the organization assesses at the end of the year and realizes that they need to change their offensive philosophy. I understand why everybody is so negative, but I still think there is a chance that this group of players has a chance this year to do better than we all are currently projecting.
If we could get a top 10 pick in this years draft maybe from teams that are looking to contend next year, like Indiana, Milwaukee or maybe Utah, I would definitely do the trade.
you want to be the GM who signs Kevin Durant as a rookie, not the GM who pays him to destroy your team as a 37-year old
KD has been very solid on the court and playing most of the games this year. You hope we make it out of the first round and put up a good fight in second. If we lose in the first round and look out-classed he may ask to be traded in the off season. Need the young ones to start Elevating thier games.
fwiw: His player option will lower his trade value. Trading partners will treat it as a 1yr contract. they will want to talk to him and get his approval, which prevents a bidding war, just like how we got a discount (ie no Amen and just 1 pick).
I don't think we actually have a "timeline" any more, I don't think we're doing **** til after the next rebuild, but we do need to trade him. I don't even believe it's real but the chemistry took a dive off a cliff long before this. I think we were right moving on from Jalen, I don't think this was the right way though sadly. We genuinely seem to have goofed this rebuild.
