I think a lot of the "no games for the last week", mixed with KD's alleged comments, mixed with how weak the team has looked of late is very likely distorting the board's view of our team and it's players.

I think the reality is we definitely have structural problems we have to fix...but we are also still a really talented team who I think is likely a 3 seed given how we have one of the easiest schedules moving forward and Denver has the hardest . We have been exposed a bit, but I think that is what Houston gets to try to address the rest of the year on crappier teams - last year we didn't even know how we were going to exposed - this year, we definitely do.

Our offense has to be more than KD and the young guys have to step up not just offensively, but defensively, AND as leaders on this team. KD is old and in the way and our young guys need to embrace taking the reins from KD- he will continue to yap, but people will tune him out when he is no longer relevant. Alpi, Jabari, Amen, Reed - if they want to shut up KD, then they have to take the team away from him because if they can't take the lead of this team, they sure can't be all stars in the league because no one is going to give it to you. You gotta go out there and prove it every practice, every day, every game, every film session - just like KD. If you aren't willing to do that, then you aren't serious about leading this team.

These are growing pains for sure, but I think that insight above is what every Rocket needs to embrace from this moment forward. Don't be mad about KD's comments, prove him wrong. The only reason this hurts now is because he isn't wrong at this point in time.

Repeat, from NBA.com: Sengun is at 29% on wide-open 3s and 35% on open 3s this year. Bari is at 38% on wide-open 3s and 33% on open 3s for his career. They are different.

From 3point.app, as posted earlier, he is slightly below the league average on wide-open and open 3s. He is actually above the league average on tight 3s.

League average WO 3%: 39.5%
League average O 3%: 34.3%
League average Tight (2-4 ft) 3%: 27%
League average Very Tight (0-2 ft) 3%: 20.4%

Bari WO 3%: 37.7%
Bari O 3%: 33%
Bari Tight 3%: 29.9%
Bari Very Tight 3%: 50% (small sample)

11% of his 3s are Very Tight
55% of his 3s are O

Its the one we have. If we don't like it then I'd trade everyone for picks and try again. Durant isnt doing **** for this team and our best bet is for:

A) Sengun becomes Jokic
B) Reed becomes Curry
C) Amen is 6-7 Russell Westbrook
D) Jabari's nuts drop

Like....people can b**** and whine about whether or not (mostly not) guys are franchise or not franchise guys but this team is *for sure* not doing **** with Durant, especially now. So either you have a glimmer of hope that one of these guys becomes a Top 15 player or we trade the farm for someone that we feel *could* be (like Harden back in the day).

Durant *sucks*. He sucks. He is one dimensional as **** and is a primary reason why we cant ever put teams in the rear view. But he tricks people just like Luka does. Get rid of him. He is booty juice but god damn does he make mid ranges and verrrrrrrry carefully selected 3s look easy.
