The article you linked says it's a Paxton ad meant to attack Crockett and Cornyn. It's not a Crockett ad.

Political Ads with AI should be tackled asap. There is definitely a line that should not be crossed.

Some AI can be relatively innocuous. If the ad whitens the candidate's teeth or photoshop their skin to make them look more attractive, that's not a big deal. That's the level I would say the Jasmine Crockett ad hits by adding more people in the background of her ad. Though I still don't feel entirely comfortable with it. If it had been a ad that says 'Latinos for Crockett' or 'Firemen for Paxton', but the people are all AI/photoshopped, that would be over the line even though it's hard for me to say why it feels significantly worse for me.

The ad that portrays Cornyn and Crockett slow dancing in front of the state capitol is worse since that's portraying their political opponent doing things they didn't actually do. The slow dancing is not super believable so it's maybe it can be considered to be a parody, but it makes me feel the ick.

Political ads that use their opponent's AI image and AI voice to say outlandish things is already out there as well. I definitely think it's not okay.

I hope eventually people will learn to assume that all political ads are lies, because I think it's going to be one of those things that's nearly impossible to legislate. The line between what's okay and what' not is too fuzzy.

Makes ZERO sense to the rest of us, but spot on for the sheeple

I don't know, I think that's worse. And specifically I'm thinking of photos where they darken someone's skin to make them appear more sinister to the intended audience.

In general, I think Phelan had a good bill -- AI or other CGI that is intended to deceive for political advantage should be outlawed. The Crockett ad that adds people behind her is obviously computer generated and no reasonable person should be deceived. The Paxton ad of Crockett and Cornyn dancing is also obviously not real and therefore not deceptive. The fake photo of Phelan and Pelosi does look like it was intended to deceive, and that should be illegal. My preference would be that if you want to do some political satire, keep the imagery stylized. Tell AI to make it art deco or anime or any artistic genre you like except photorealism. You can be punchy and fun in attacking your opponents. But, when you try to fake something and be deceptive, you aren't attacking your political opponent anymore, you're attacking the voters.

He might win but it won’t be a landslide. Republicans have lost Hispanic voters. It will be close.

It's crazy how everyone is forgetting Biden only lost tx by 5 points in 2020. Beto only lost by under 3 points and the 2026 midterm environment will be worst for republicans than 2018. There's no reason why James can't beat out Paxton

in a normal world, Talarico would mop the floor with people like Paxton or Cornyn

forget the cult members that just vote for whoever has a R in front of them, we still have way too many idiots trying to both-sides everything or talking about not voting/couch 2026

you’re not clever or enlightened with your “both parties are the same” bullsh*t or acting as if voting is useless, you’re actually just lazy and dumb AF

LOL — President Trump’s accomplishments are undeniable. In real estate, entertainment, and now politics. His intelligence is among the highest in the world.

Crockett is an embarrassment to politics and has no accomplishments outside of getting elected in a poverty district. They just don’t know any better.

In a normal world Paxton would be a ward of the state in Huntsville.

There's no woke cause he won't jump on with an out of context quote from the Bible. Personally, I have no issue with abortion or gay rights but I don't pretend there's Biblical reality in that. Politics and faith are 2 different things. Issues should be constructed on the grounds of an argument, not re educating Christians on what Jesus said. If you listen to his Joe Rogan interview, he might as well be a scientologist. So far, he's said:

    God is non binary.

The issue of abortion is not rooted in scripture. (it absolutely is)

Christians who want borders are less Christian than atheists, muslims, hindus etc who want open borders because that means they're not loving. Can't process wanting a border has to do with limited supplies, instability, lack of resources and blames it on Christian nationalism.

Homosexuality is welcomed by Jesus and doesn't lead to a "slippery slope".

Wants to allow unlicensed religious chaplains to work at mental health roles in public schools.

“Christianity is both spiritual and political, because politics is just another word for how we treat our neighbors,” Talarico said during a sermon he delivered in June at University United Methodist Church in Austin. “Jesus took on the system. That’s Christianity at its best.”.

A whole bunch of kumbaya stuff on the grounds of Jesus loves everyone that gets intertwined with terrible policy. But this is the modern democrat model -- push terrible policies behind the scenes, shame anyone (including minorities) who want an orderly, low crime society, promote suicidal empathy over upward mobility for Americans then blame pushback on Christian nationalism.

I think you overstate the importance of the sect of Christianity as opposed to policy. There's no woke cause he won't jump on with a re interpretation of the Bible-- and that's incredibly dangerous to have in politics. No one I know thinks trump is a Christian or uses it as anything other than political clout, but they like his policy over the alternative. If you can provide a solid argument as to why 500,000 asylum seekers a month pouring across the border wall will improve my life, keep my kids safe, and won't lead to instability then do so. But when you go full Pope and say we have to love everyone and anyone who wants a border is a terrible Christian nationalist, you lose the common sense crowd. He operates from a very DEI sect where everyone is absolved of accountability on grounds of kindness, empathy and tolerance, but we must scold and shame Christians for their past sins.

You being a native Texan has nothing to do with you being informed. I've seen enough gullible, naive 5th and 6th generation Texans who thought politics "works itself out" "everyone's the same" shift hard right based on the issues above. Sharia absolutely is an issue, organizations that are banned in Saudi and UAE openly broadcast it in the US.

There's a reason muslims are trying to get elected everywhere in Texas. They attempt to pass bills legitimizing terrorists , push for bills with new muslim public holidays, and desperately try to impose their way of life on others. There is no interest in America or being American. Ask Lebanon what happened to their country when muslims became the majority. The way they use government funds to Islamize things is happening at a breakneck pace -- it's time to wake up. The intent is for you to accept them being violent if you don't listen, not improving your way of life.

You want to be uninformed because it helps you preserve your safe space. This is all information that is publicly available:

1991 Explanatory Memorandum (U.S. court evidence): A "Grand Jihad" to sabotage and destroy Western civilization from within. The Project (seized post-9/11): Penetrate institutions, build parallel structures, reject assimilation.

The relentless pace is because they want the demographics to have you comply with the Shariah way, or be forced via violent means. Iran shows you what actual facism and violence against free speech is, something we've been lucky to not have in America.

Why don't you sign in with your other account @AroundTheWorld lol you're a racist scumbag and your obsession against Muslims should put your, dumbass on a watch list.

MSA is a student organization and isn't promoted by the school. You have no issue with a Christian student organization setting up a booth promoting Christianity but have a stroke seeing a Muslim organization.

    Shirley Ann Jackson

    Katherine Johnson

    Condoleeza Rice

Plenty of smart black women ... but they're obviously not going to be democrat politicians. They lean right for a reason.

I appreciate your answer and trader jorge would probably have a similar list

That being said despite your politics being similar no one has a reputation of being racist on this site like trader and bigtexxx

They probably have negative opinions of Harriet Tubman

Regarding your post about black woman I don't let someone's politics decide my opinion of them and their capabilities. I respect how Mitch McConnell held power in the Senate. I can't stand McConnell
