I knew there had to be some sort of underlying attitude issues that were the root of all of his teams post Warriors being so disappointing. That's why I wasn't initially in favor of the Durant trade. I miss Dillon.

Rockets do have a pretty authoritative grip on their media folks. I doubt they will let Jackson within 5 miles of the Toyota center before the end of the season, and the Hou chron guys are pathetic yes men. So I wouldn’t be shocked if they find a way to keep him in a bubble to not have to answer.

Tim McMahon is probably our best bet for getting a question in or putting pressure on the rockets and KD to give some answers given that he does love to mix it up and he will feed the espn drama machine if he gets the chance.

I think the first thing to see will be the body language amongst the team when they come back. I think the first and only practice before the game will be this afternoon too so maybe a chance to see some body language from after practice interviews but I bet the rockets PR lady will be all over those interviews and control every aspect of them.

I just checked and I don’t see yet that any major outlets are reporting on the burner account story. USA Today and yahoo are the only ones saying anything. I do think at some point Tim McMahon will be the first person in the mainstream that does have sources to give us the scoop.

Dude itches at the chance to stir it up at any chance he can get. He’s been around DFW sports for sometime so I have some faith based on his background he’ll be on top of it.

 

Reputable outlets typically report only information that is verified or verifiable. Since X/Twitter is known to be a cesspool of fakes, caution is warranted, which is why they haven’t reported it.

All that being said regardless if it’s true or not, I have been saying for weeks that I’m totally okay with Stone trading KD this summer if there is any value they can extract from another team.

If there’s no value out there then I’m totally fine keeping him and running it back next year with a healthier team regardless if this is real or not. I think from a basketball perspective it’s obvious that this team was never just one veteran away from contending because really the core question at the center of this franchises future really comes down to these questions:

-Can Sengun learn how to shoot
-Can Amen learn how to shoot
-Can Sengun and Reed become adequate defenders
-Does Stone need to trade Sengun or Amen because of fit due to their glaring deficiencies??

The KD portion of the equation is a very very short term question and not nearly as important as solving the above questions about Amen and Sengun. That’s your future you need to 100% get right.

 

I agree with all of this. I don't know whether KD did this or not but I think there are plenty of people who don't like KD or don't like the Rockets who would have some incentive to do this. There are millions of people who just enjoy stirring up **** in general who would consider something like this. There are plenty of KD-hating fans out there and probably quite a few ex-teammates who think he's a jackass. It's a very easy way to get some revenge.

I think the Mussolini reference makes it all less credible. I do believe KD probably knows a bit about who Mussolini is. I think it's unlikely that many of the readers that KD is trying trying to reach would appreciate the reference.

Regardless, I think your approach is reasonable and what KD and Udoka should move forward with. I also think Clutch or someone associated with Clutch is the kind of personality who might consider such a takedown.

 

HAS KD DENIED IT?

Unless my Google is personally blocked, then the answer is, "No, Kevin Durant has not denied the burner account thing." Nor have his teammates rushed to denounce it or defend him.

Now, are there other side b.s. troll accounts pretending to be KD? Especially now? Also possible.

(Starting to wonder which is KD's Clutchfans account. Might have more than one.)
