Can we just /thread by agreeing that the GOP is a bunch of crooked, miserable, morally bereft pedophile enablers? This the leadership class. It doesn't count their poor, deluded cult base who would just pivot to the next fake outrage if the entire cadre of GOP politicians disintegrated tomorrow.

 

I think anyone saying this side without including their own is just performing in tribalism. A great example of brain wash via propaganda. This goes for those who call all lefties X.

Ultimately this just plays in to the hands of what all of congress wants.

NEW: Andrew Paul Johnson, a Jan. 6 rioter pardoned by Donald Trump, was convicted Tuesday in Hernando County, Fla., on five state charges, including molesting a child under 12 and another under 16, as well as exposing himself.

Police say Johnson tried to bribe one victim with money he claimed he would receive as restitution for Jan. 6 defendants.

A prosecutor told NPR that Johnson “faces up to life in prison” when he is sentenced in March.

While the Trump administration is demanding more coal be mined in America with fewer protections for the workers, rates of black lung disease are already on the rise, according to a body of research.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that about 20% of coal miners in Central Appalachia are suffering from black lung — the highest rate detected in more than 25 years. One in 20 of the region’s coal miners are living with the most severe form of the condition.

Worker rights and environmental groups blasted the administration for claiming to support coal miners while slashing federal staffing and rules for miner safety, including a Biden-era regulation that would protect miners from silica dust.

“This is not the way to build a better future for Appalachia. If you’re going to invest in coal, you need to invest in protecting workers and strengthening our communities, but this plan does neither,” said Rebecca Shelton of the Appalachian Citizens’ Law Center.

Manish Bapna, president and CEO of the Natural Resources Defense Council, derided Trump’s “soot-stained” award.

“The 19th century called, and it wants its fuel source back,” said Bapna. “It’s no wonder fossil fuel lobbyists are handing Trump an award today. Trump asked them for campaign cash and promised to return the favor — and now, he is.”

The "Trump agenda" is antithetical to everything that would make it more popular. There is no way they can pivot to good government, limit corruption, respect humanity, eliminate tariffs, and reduce chaos--that would all be going against what MAGA values. So, we'll get a few talking points on drug prices and lots of immigrant caravan scare-mongering all delivered with in-your-face memes. That's all they are capable of doing.
