The main thing we need is a coaching change. We will never win anything significant with a coach who is clueless when it comes to coaching offense. Bring in someone who can coach the Princeton style offense. We have the perfect big man for it.
I don't think enough people realize that having the #3 seed doesn't mean jack **** when your offense is completely reliant on a 37yo that hates his teammates and our franchise players can't shoot and/or can't defend! If we drafted Wemby that year, then this shitshow would actually have some hope but the road we're on is peaking at WCF loss and wasting years to be mid. I thought when we were rebuilding, our goal was to win a championship, not get past the 2nd round and peak there. Doing the latter just means 10 years down the drain with nothing to show for it. We never got a generational franchise player, we need to rebuild. We can do a big gamble for a KD + Giannis combo but after that we need to blow it up if it fails.
Getting a "true #1" requires a ton of luck. It may take years, even decades to get it. You really want us to keep tanking until then?
This season feels like 04-07 we were just good enough to crack a top 4 seed but everyone knew not close to good enough to compete. High variance offense where we work our asses off for long 2s , occasional 3s
This franchise trims to the bone on costs, doubt Wemby would be as good here him and castle prayed they would goto SA
"Retooling" is one thing, but trading away all of our established young players and starting over from scratch is what I'd really like to see us avoid, and I have little faith in this owner or this front office to do so.
I vote that the Rockets give a $5 option on tickets, and 5 minutes before tip off, everyone who took the $5 option is entered into a drawing for lower bowl seats that are unsold. You could even offer to buy back the lower bowl tickets the hour before based on how many options were picked up. Gentlmen, we have the technology. Someone make this happen because it's likely the only way I get to sit in the good seats.
Here's the thing we werent done rebuilding. For some reason they thought they were and got KD like we made it to the WCFs last year lol
Except for if youre me who was screaming bloody murder not to get KD last summer with everyone here telling me I was wrong.
I agree, but I think either Stone or Ime or both go, to take the fall for the lack of success. KD moves on to greener pastures or retires. I think they'll then keep the peripheral role players we drafted (Bari being the one most likely to stay) and whoever hasn't fully **** the bed in Ime's system as a 2nd-3rd option/transition "star" (See: Kevin Martin, Christian Wood, John Wall) to tread water for the tank. Probably Amen if he learns to do more than the basic up on the right analog dunk, maybe Sengun because he actually puts on a show.
