What youre leaving out is the next year at 23 he shot 30% and then at 24 he shot 31% LMAO. You wont bring that up though lol Also we were talking about HIS AGE. Like I said in my post HIS SAME AGE. You have to move the goal post and still lost lol
Stone is definitely not gone. If anything, KD not working out in this spectacular way is a feather in Stone's cap -- he's the one that didn't want KD, Ime did. Stone just executed the transaction to get the player Udoka was demanding. Stone gets to say: "We did this season Ime's way, instead of the patient build up way, and look what happened."
Ime needs to be gone. I would much rather have Harden at least he makes youngins better. He may suck in the playoffs but we're not winning a chip with KD anyway and Harden Amen pick n roll would be a thing of Beauty. As I recall Stone wanted harden and Ime said no. Fire Ime. Im on board now.
Not sure if we are in phase 2 or 3 or 4 or whatever, but we should focus on properly evaluating our own talent, and make some decisions about how we want to build the team. Running it back with a semi-healthy Fred isn’t gonna fix everything. At this point we should be both adding talent and building for fit…assuming we are properly evaluating our talent.
Bringing KD wasn’t a mistake, his mistakes were re-signing Fred and Adams in contracts with inflated amounts compared to their market value, and signing DFS while underestimating how serious his ankle injury is. These 3 moves, as necessary they might have seemed at real time, were the ones who brought us to the point where we cannot make any normal moves like a lot of other teams made during the deadline. Stone can hide as much as he wants behind the “I didn’t initiate kd trade” excuse, but he’s the one who’s responsible for spending too much greens on other bad contracts of literally 3 corpses on our roster. That’s not on Ime or kd. Regardless, Ime should also be gone.
we’re in phase COOKED right now And if they don’t do something this offseason we’re going to be back in phase COOKED beyond repair / middle of the pack NBA hell
The hard truth is that Amen and Reed might be just super complimentary players....nothing wrong with that. U would need a guy like a Cam Boozer, Wemby or Flagg to get them going. 25 is probably the early ripe age for a big to show what he is made of, so might be too premature to cut losses with Big Turk.
Sengun may develop into a very good player or even great. He may develop a 15-20 ft jumpshot or 3 pt shot at some point in his career. But it’s been 5 years and we haven’t seen any growth in these areas. This is the reason the half court set is so compressed even when he was surrounded with 4 shooters last year. He can only operate at the FT line, elbows or top of key 3 pt line to iso and drive or he posts low. That’s his game. He can’t shoot more than 10-12 ft. Jokic has been able to shoot from 18-20 plus feet since at least year 3. This range pulls defenders out and opens up the half court. By year 3 he was already a better 3 pt shooter than Sengun and wasn’t afraid to launch it eventually becoming consistent by year 6. People forget that Hakeem scored consistently from 15-19 ft. He shot from the elbows or beyond the FT line or baseline 14-15 ft. Even Dream had more range than Sengun. This is why Sengun Amen doesn’t work and hasn’t worked. I don’t think there’s been any 2 players who are the main scorers on their team not being able to shoot beyond 10 ft. This is why I keep saying trade one or both of them.
most of the Rockets problems revolve around spacing. Sengun takes up a lot of driving lanes since he needs to operate in certain spots as I mentioned before. And without any kind of jumpshot this offense becomes stagnant watching him iso or post in these areas. This has been the Rockets issue even when they had 4 shooters around him with limited driving lanes and teams either playing zone or trapping him or our guards. This isn’t rocket science. Sengun needs to go. Get Giannis and Turner in here. Move Amen as well
No need for all that. Ditching one of Amen or Sengun for a two way shooter solves all problems in one go with no risk. Replacing Sengun is harder because a stretch 5 rim protector is rare and that's what you'd need to replace him. I do think we can nab JJJ though and instantly become a historically elite defensive team. Replacing Amen is much easier but Amen has the higher ceiling imo. At the same time, Udoka likes slow half court basketball and that's just not going to suit Amen till his late 20's. If trading one of these two is off the table, there's no point trying to build because you can't build anything with 2 non-shooters. You can just go back to rebuilding.
you are probably right, but I wish we could try putting 3 elite shooters, including a great on-ball initiator, around them before abandoning all hope. It’s not off the table that one of them learns to shoot as well. Bari has not been a great shooter overall and we are playing without a true on-ball guy. So just wish we could see what things looked like with the shooting and ball handling around them.
