You're completely missing the point. Yeah dude, obviously he's not even close to Wemby. That's what I'm saying, I am agreeing with you. The part I don't get is "well he's not Wemby, so lets trade him." Okay, trade him for who? Why do you want to trade him just because he's not Wemby? I don't get the thought process of "I wanted him to be on the same level as Wemby, and he's not, so let's get rid of him". You need good players on your team to win a championship and he's a good player. Why can't he be the second or third best player on the team when we win a championship?

I'm with you, but I can still answer the question. Is he a good enough player at his position to want him there instead of a different player with a more fitting skillset? For me? Yes. I actually don't think he should be a 5 though, I think he should be a scoring 4 who's also a secondary distributor and he's more than good enough on D for that if he's not the anchor. It's why I think at times the double big looks good, because if someone else does the dirty work Alpi can cook more on offense. I think he's a #2/3 option (unless he gets a 3 ball then he jumps right up to the star territory - but the promise we saw in the summer and at the beginning of the season showed less bankable than a Jalen Green streak sadly) and we should just adjust accordingly, but I do understand why some might want to trade him, he's also a valuable asset that could bring back a bigger haul than others.

He would need to be able to guard on the perimeter to be a 4, he's a 5 and a 5 only. He can't chase guys around screens or do anything away from the rim on defense.

I know for a fact that Tillman couldn’t care less about the team. It’s one of 30 businesses he owns and he is not involved in any manner except to say to lawyer Stone not to spend any money and maximize profit.

This isnt even true they were struggling to score and as soon has he came in he had two assists right off the bat showing his impact. Except for Wemby they were chucking threes before that and missing. He's a reserve and it was a short game how long did you expect him to play over Wemby? When I speak to the average bball knowledge on here this is what I mean. Impact is a skill beyond all others. You guys are only looking for flash and not looking at what someone does to help you win. Its like grown men with childlike expectations. When you say he didnt belong were you expecting him to do what Kat did and leave Barnes open and chuck a lot of threes? Or did you want him to be a superstar and generational like Wemby. HE'S NOT WEMBY HE WAS NEVER BILLED AS THAT.

    Trade Sheppard Sengun Amen

Get Giannis, Turner, and a combo guard or 2 guard that can score

They were a team on the rise last season, if that all falls apart one year later there should be hell to pay.

Couldn't disagree more. I see him as a hero for being able to even achieve this with the worst spacing in the league and a coach who is trying to force a square peg into a round hole.

Regardless of all that and how anyone plays in the All Star game, he is considered a star. A two time all star who led a team to 50+ wins under the age of 22 is a star. I don't know of anyone else in NBA history who's done that and wasn't considered a star. It feels like people here are moving goal posts.

Anyone who wants to trade Sengun just to trade him away is dumb.

The argument to trade Sengun has to assume: a) he is valued in the trade as a top ~20 trade asset in the league, and b) coming back in the trade is a present or future offensive #1 that fits with our other best young player (i.e., can shoot/handle/pass/create an elite level and isn't a tiny guard).

Outside of that scenario, Sengun as an asset is untradable. 23yo 2x All Star on a sub-max contract.

But, the Rockets should indeed be on the lookout for that scenario. Because it is obvious IMO that Sengun and Amen are not a synergistic pairing as top 3 players on a team, and Sengun's value add on a team with a true championship level creator is less clear than his role on a team lacking one (like us right now), due to his playstyle and limited complementary game.

IMO, a lot of this applies to Amen as well, you could swap him in as the outgoing piece too and there would be compelling logic there too.

You'd need a mobile, switchable, plus-defense stretch 5 to make it work with Sengun at the four IMO. Which is something I'd love to have anyway, but I'm not sure who that guy is. There are only a handful in the NBA and all seem pretty spoken for and hard to trade for right now, and/or massively overpaid.

That's not true, he made it last season and there were no injuries.

Sorry you seem disinterested in information, if you're here to rail against something I'm not a good partner for that.

Oh I do agree the fit isn't something we've got many options on. But I do think a Sengun/Turner pairing for example, or a Sengun/Chet (or even Mobley, ironically as a former Green stan) pairing could be nigh unstoppable. I don't think we have a real option to get that on our squad without a significant change in direction either, but I do think that's how you maximise Sengun. He's also a fantastic lob thrower, Silas should have had him throwing to Bruno rather than KPJ who didn't like passing at all lol.

Stop being overly emotional and spew shi+ out your mouth without thinking. Now if you presented your case more logically and thoughtfully then maybe your opinion would be respectable. But you haven’t.

Why would the Rockets be the Bucks? They’re starting KPJ. That should tell you something about the direction and trajectory of that team which has nothing to do with the Rockets. Idiot

I wonder if there's any chance at all of Miami being willing to trade Kel'el Ware for the right package since they still seem pretty committed to Bam as the starter. He would be the ideal fit IMO, but he wouldn't come cheap, if they're even willing to entertain the notion. A guy like that who could do a mixture of playing alongside Sengun + backing him up and really space the floor, block shots, grab rebounds, cut for lobs. Would really address a lot of problems with this team.

My guess is they would ask for Tari or Reed in the deal?

We barely even go through Sengun. The games without KD should show you what Sengun looks like when an offense is based around him. Both Amen and Sengun tend to look better in those games. The offense is based around a guy who can shoot well but barely knows how to pass and is super slow on defense and everyone else is struggling as a result. THIS IS WHY KD HAS ALWAYS NEEDED A GREAT PG WITH HIM TO WIN.

Maybe Bari will play himself into a mini reputation and someone will take him off our hands? I dunno, I just think we're badly built and we're going to have to make a decision to play a more modern game, whoever we keep. We won't get far playing 90's ball tbh.
