    House Speaker Johnson’s Justification Problem

    Johnson doesn’t deny that these violations happen. He rationalizes them. By claiming that ICE is “doing what the American people demand,” he accepts the abuses and calls them democracy in action.

    That’s worse than denial. It tells every federal officer watching that breaking the Constitution is fine as long as the crowd cheers

    Everybody's keeping the reciepts. The only thing keeping me going day to day is the notion that eventually the bill is going to come due and at least a few of these fascists are going to suffer tangible consequences.

    I can wait as long as necessary, but I personally am not going to forget. I hope I'm not the only one.

    You can run or hide from justice, but I remain hopeful that you can't escape from it forever.

    Also, any Democrats that want to "forgive and forget" and sweep the whole thing under the rug can go to hell right beside the fascists they are so collegial and magnanimous towards. We tried that after the first four year waking nightmare, and that's how we ended up in this current hellscape.
