Seriously? Go overseas, tell them you're from America. Watch how zero people think you mean Canada or Brazil.
proceeds to go to an "indian restaurant" to order butter chicken and chicken tikka because they are "cultured". then off to get burned at the beach so they can look...less pasty.
To be friendly At the same time Individualism Bigger is better, gluttony Absolute king of entertainment Militarism, violence, guns Hard working Mental illness, drug abuse, school shootings Cars, cars, cars Freedom, even if it’s beat to hell right now Multiculturalism, religions, foods, peoples You don’t have to invent something first for it to be your culture. Soccer was introduced to Mexico by the British, I still consider soccer a part of Mexican culture, and many other countries cultures.
You lost me at Baseball- England, but... Jazz, Blues, Country, Rock and Roll, Hip Hop/Rap, Gospel, Bluegrass, Soul, and R&B. The modern drum set was invented in New Orleans, USA, during the late 19th to early 20th century. It emerged from the need for a single percussionist to play multiple instruments (bass drum, snare, cymbals) in theater pits and jazz bands. Key innovations included the practical bass drum pedal developed around 1890. The electric guitar was invented in Los Angeles, California, in the early 1930s (circa 1931–1932) by George Beauchamp and Adolph Rickenbacker. The first commercially viable solid-body electric instrument, known as the "Rickenbacker Frying Pan" lap steel, was developed to allow guitars to be heard over loud big bands. Blue jeans were invented in Reno, Nevada, and patented in San Francisco, California, in 1873 Extreme sports & sports in general: In addition to baseball, football & basketball, water skiing originated in 1922 on Lake Pepin in Lake City, Minnesota, when 18-year-old Ralph Samuelson invented the sport. Seeking to ski on water, he successfully used two pine boards as skis, leather bindings, and a clothesline for a rope to be towed by a boat. And snowboarding originated in the United States, with its most recognized, modern "birthplace" being Muskegon, Michigan, in 1965. Engineer Sherman Poppen invented the precursor to the snowboard—the "Snurfer"—by binding two skis together for his daughters to ride down snowy dunes.
Hollywood is the greatest global soft-power mechanism in the history of the world. Hollywood is America for most of the hoi polloi in the rest of the world.
It's basically just the English taking credit for something the Irish did @MadMax The Irish game of rounders is similar to baseball, and most mentioned as its ancestor or nearest relation https://www.britannica.com/sports/rounders But yes, there were a bunch of mostly British stick-ball games that all led up to the pinnacle...baseball https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origins_of_baseball
Buddy of mine who has to watch his salt intake recently turned me on to this one...it doesn't *need* a pinch of extra salt at all, the flavor is pretty awesome on everything I've tried it on so far: https://www.kennysseasonings.com/ And when I'm cooking meat on a cast iron and not on a grill, I do love this stuff: https://texassaltco.com/products/cowboysalt
Sometimes, I wonder if Neanderthals and Cro-magnon, even Homo erectus were throwing rocks to each other and hitting them with clubs. I mean they threw spears & atlatls with precision & accuracy. I'd like to think they took a little bp after clubbing a cave bear to death. Maybe used a saber tooth hide for home plate?
I'm sure they did, I mean kicking animal heads around and calling it futbol had to get a bit boring and painful after a while.
Yeah, if Polynesians were sailing in outrigger canoes from Aotearoa to Tahiti to Hawaii using the stars as navigation, I'm sure somebody was shooting coconuts through Pandanus baskets after a morning surfing session (which has also ingrained itself into American culture thanks to Hawaii). But, we've got the whole James Naismith and the peach baskets thing going.
That might drive me ... to sniff cocaine off of a toilet seat ... she don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie.
