We'll see. The best teams, unfortunately for the Rockets, have the best player on the floor. Crappy offense can be glossed over if you super star is super starring. Also, don't forget the age old cliche that defense wins championships. So if you have a strong defense that can keep you in games and you have that dude that can get you a bucket at the end, this sounds like which team? Well, it sounds like OKC ...but after that?
I don't think he is the worst coach, but he is a horrible tactician and when games are close, he costs the Rockets games by not making proper adjustments. A more cerebral coach would have this team just behind OKC, and at least 5-10 games better. DD
Silas was the worst coach in the league when he was here. Ime is in the bottom 1/3 because his defensive coaching ability is above average. He is at the bottom or VERY close to it when it comes to offense and adjustments. The team will never truly compete as long as he is calling the shots.
Well, that would be pretty close to worst. And a huge problem is how Stone and Udoka are united in shaping this team. The blind leading the blind. Ime: "Rafael, all 'd'. No 'o'. You feels me?" Stone: "I got this. Just let me drive."
Les would’ve fired his ass by now. Stone has good vision in talent but his trust with Doka, and Fred is killing the future. add The DFS signing to his latest disappointment from also not making meaningful moves like ever.
I doubt ANYONE here thinks differently I expect us to lose pretty much every close game I don't ever expect for us to have a remotely decent last play or good shot
Rockets since January: .500 team Worst offensive net rating in the leagues Worst FG% in the league Worst TS in the league
Is he though? The team looks dead. If he was the culture catalyst than we’d be the same as we were last season. It was all dillon brooks who was the culture.
Difference between us and OKC: 1) OKC have better shooters, creating better spacing for Shai to operate 2) They're big 3 are better 3-level scorers than our suppose big 3 of Sengun/KD/Amen 3) Shai can create offense for himself and others...KD gets buckets, but not a great facilitator. Sengun is a great facilitator, but our perimeter players are suspect and inconsistent...plus, Sengun is somewhat inconsistent with his paint scoring
I said after OKC. The word after does a lot of work in that sentence. That said, I'm gonna hold out hope the Rockets catch fire cause if they are at their best (which they aren't right now), they can put up a fight against OKC. We've seen it already.
Man these threads are terrible, lol. 4th seed and very competitive for third or second by season's end. Top 7 and top 5 offense and defensive rating right now.
Oh please shut it. A G LEAGUE celtics team blew us out by shooting lots of threes and making them while bald idiot Udoka was ejected for his tough guy act. Mchale took us to a CF while poodoka hasn’t even left the first round
Skewed by the hot start in the beggining this season and top 7 offensive rating is pathetic for a contender.
Udoka not out there shooting open 3s. Ime/Stone built this roster for defense, grab offensive rebounds, and have KD close out games. Our defense took a step back this year, losing Steven Adams definitely hurt us in the rebound category, and our opponents found out a strategy to slow down KD: make everyone else beat you
Poodoka is out there playing bums like okogie and finney smith as much as reed, the third best three point shooter on this team. Have seen zero Reed-Tari-Bari-KD-Sengun esque lineups form him where spacing would be golden
