Corrections Corporation of DR America (CCA) inked a lucrative four-year contract to build a detention facility at the South Texas Family Residential Center, which would accommodate women and children. There was a just public bidding process, a requirement that would delay the deal and, thus, postpone the construction, something that the Obama administration struggling to tackle the immigrant crisis could not afford. The Obama administration has a policy of detaining women and children in order to deter others from coming.

Since the beginning of 2016, the Obama administration has conducted nationwide raids of immigrant communities, particularly immigrants who entered the US after January 1, 2014, and have received orders of deportation since then. The Obama administration defended its recent raids, saying that it is following guidelines the US Department of Homeland Security adopted in November of 2014. In seven years of his presidency, President Barack Obama has overseen the removal of more than 2.4 million immigrants, earning him the “deporter-in-chief” label.

Letting yall know there are signs that ICE is pulling out of Minnesota. I’m hearing from immigration lawyers that the Whipple Federal Building is emptying out.
Most people here in Minneapolis are still very wary though. Also Tom Homan continues to mislead people. Most people in Minnesota, even people outside of the Twin Cities are not grateful for what ICE has done here. There have been protest even in smaller cities and counties that Trump carried. Far from people feeling safe here people have been scared, our economy has taken a hit and two Minnesotans killed.

I don’t think most people here are relaxing. Yet.

 

I expected them to have a goal for entering in the first place, have metrics to measure their performance against that goal, and criteria for declaring success and stopping. This feels like Vietnam -- capture one hill, then move on to the next hill while the Viet Cong recaptures the last hill you held.

 

This feels like any other law enforcement "surge" or decision to concentrate forces for a brief period of time.

Just because a DUI roadblock is set up doesn't mean when they leave and some drunks drive through the area afterward the drunks won.

ICE can only sustain such a concentration of officers, taking away from other areas, for so long.

The notion that because such a concentration of force ended, which, of course, it eventually would, the protestors "won" or something is asinine.

A prime example of why I.C.E. is necessary. There are thousands of people like this who have been arrested and/or deported every year. Instead, this criminal illegal pedophile was granted Temporary Protected Status and allowed to sponsor a child under Biden. Possibly 300,000 unaccounted for minors and thousands of criminals like these guys preying on them and others like Dacara Thompson, Laken Riley, Molly Tibbets, Rachel Morin...and on and on and on.

Felix Bustillo Diaz, a 49-year-old criminal illegal alien from Honduras, and Jose Gerber-Rivera, a 45-year-old Salvadoran national, are accused of repeatedly raping Bustillo’s 12-year-old grandniece who was illegally smuggled into the U.S. by her Honduran mother in 2014 during the Obama administration. The child was left alone with Bustillo as her sponsor.

In 2024, despite being an illegal alien with a criminal conviction on his record, Bustillo was granted Temporary Protected Status (TPS) by the Biden administration. His TPS has since been terminated.

Bustillo’s victim managed to escape from Bustillo with the help of Brenda Garcia, 38, and Tania Garcia, 37, both Houston-area residents, who falsely told her they were rescuing her from being sexually abused only to allegedly zip-tie, beat, torture and malnourish the minor and force her to perform manual labor for them. HSI Houston and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested both women on Oct. 3 for felony injury to a child, unlawful restraint, and invasive visual recording.

“The details of this investigation are deeply disturbing and represent some of the most evil criminal behavior in our society,” said Montgomery County Sheriff Wesley Doolittle. “While the child is now safe, our mission is far from over."

Doubt anyone has an issue with going after violent criminals. Many people have an issue with going after mothers, fathers, and grandparents, breaking up families, and especially leaving children without adult family care. This is why ICE is disliked now.

 

Don't break U.S. immigration laws then.

 

Breaking up families is not the intention of moral laws. Natural laws do not support breaking up families or harming children.
