Don’t even give him the last shot but why not even as a decoy?? Udoka either sabotaged that game to make a point to the players or he has a severe case of anxiety/choking
I think what you are saying is that you CANT bet on Rockets games in Tillman owned casinos which makes sense BUT that is still a conflict of interest because it means Tillman loses money as the Rockets advance in tournaments. If the Rockets were to be in the Finals, I'm sure it would have some real financial burden to Fertitta owned properties if no one can bet on the "big game".
Why not take out all the non shooters and put in Reed, Holiday, Jeff Green, Tari, and KD? You know, force the defense to guard all of them rather than focusing on only Tari and KD... the only 2 shooters Udoka put on the court.
I don’t know that I can remember being more frustrated with a Rockets coach in the way I’m frustrated with Udoka. Where I felt like the coach was clearly in the way of team success.
No need to investigate Ime U-choke-oo ... He did what he does ..... he's just a terrible offensive coach who loves deflecting the blame when his players don't bail him out!! His tough persona is an attempt to cover his huge shortcomings!! (P.S.) Stone is as much to blame for this!! HE refuses to grow a pair and mandate that U-Choke-oo get help on the offensive end! The crap that we saw last night at the end of the game was clearly evident all last year!!! Fire U-CHOKE-OO!!! ....... ....... .......
Everyone knows you take your best shooter out when the game is on the line. I mean, look at the Clippers. Did Lue keep Kwahi in to hit a game winning shot? I don't think s.... oh wait he did. nvm, Ime sucks
I definitely wanted McFail gone and never liked that hire. But even he did an amazing job in the 2014-15 season given the number of injuries the team sustained plus with how ridiculously loaded the West was. Every team in the Southwest Division made the playoffs that year. It's ironic that the Rockets even under different ownership and management made the same mistakes with McFail as the current regime is doing with Ime. Les prematurely gave McFail a 3-year extension coming off a first round loss and Stone and Fertitta did that with Ime only they doubled the length of the contract. I'll be curious if Fertitta will be willing to eat that money the way Les did when he inevitably figures out he f'ed up.
Unless the Rockets fall into the play-in, which is possible, I doubt Ime will be fired this season. He will likely get another chance next season.
I was really amped on Ime. It seemed like he really turned our franchise around. But man, it was easier to root for him when our whole team looked like dogs out there. We've lost that. Are they just not responding to him or was it never him? Was it Dillon all along? Stuff like this is hard to ignore when the team seems to lack the tough, defensive mentality that is supposed to be Ime Udoka's calling card. And man, if we don't even have that to begin with, what's even the excuse for leaving Reed on the bench? At least I've seen Reed diving for balls trying to make hustle/effort plays.
I don’t see how benching Reed in that situation is different from what the jazz did when they benched their stars. It’s a deliberate act to lower your win probability.
Has an explanation been provided as to why Reed was not in the game? Ime needs to respond so we don't think he's either A) Very dumb; or B) has some silly vendetta against Reed.
Im not as big on Reed as most BUT I 100% agree that he should have been on the court to end last nights game....I did not understand that decision
Maybe he thought it was us who had the 3 point lead and we needed to play defense for 2 seconds. Physicality wins games.
What makes it more baffling is the OT game vs DEN, same situation down 3 with 7 seconds left, after timeout, very similar play giving KD picks at top of the arc: lineup was KD, Reed, Aaron, Jabari and Sengun.
