Teams are playing us with the most disrespectful defense and it’s working. Put the center on Amen and play back 10 feet is stopping everything. I can’t believe we haven’t figured out an answer to it yet.

 

You guys all got what you wanted in the Hornets game. Amen played the dunker spot all the first half. Ime has officially de-nutted him. Gave the ball to KD at the top and turned him into point KD. You saw the result. Amen’s 18 points a game disappeared. KD 5 more turnovers, totally stagnant offense. Ime and Stone are such sh*t.

 

Only bright side watching the interview from our front office is the look Ime had. He no longer had smirk confidence that he had beginning of the season and now genuinely worried that he might not get to finish his contract. 9 out of 10 times owners will replace the coach before overhauling entire roster. I just don’t see us winning if Giannis comes to HOU if only offense play we run is ISO top of the key 90% time

 

Kevin Durant to on the Rockets offensive identity: "Put two on the ball swing it out of that. Try to target our ISOs. Go at weak defenders. We get our best offense in pick and roll. Get two on the ball and Alpi making the decision out of the trap."

For anyone who still thinks we don’t have a roster problem please stop. For anyone who put all the blame on Udoka please stop.

We are starting 2 non shooters who are both inconsistent and not dominant. We are also playing a second year guy who makes so many mistakes each game, inconsistent, and just can’t defend anyone. We don’t have a guard that can both get to the paint and shoot. No starting point. It’s a miracle this team has stayed afloat really.

If after this off season Stone decides to stay pat or not trade Sengun or Amen then he deserves all the blame. Put Udoka in that too if he advised against a trade. We can’t win with Amen and Sengun. It’s not working and hasn’t worked.

 

Not the scheme. Its personnel. If sengun can shoot 3s differently story. If amen can shoot different story. If both can shoot together real different story

 

I think it’s a simple fix. Amen needs to run pick n roll with Alpe. I notice Amen always try’s to beat his man strictly off the dribble. For the most part he does but it would be easier for the whole operation to just run pick n roll and make the right read. They also should pick up Cam Thomas. If we’re not going to have elite shooters we can at least add a really good scorer off the bench.

 

If they have Amen run the pick and roll with Sengun, Amen's defender is just going to go under the screen, drop back into Sengun's lap, effectively double teaming him and force Amen to shoot.

You have to hide Amen on the weak side as far away from the play as possible.

How is it that Durant is often double teamed before he even catches the ball?

They do the same thing to Alpi ....

I wonder why that is?!

I think the opposite. If you put him on the weak side, you allow the defense an extra man to defend the strong side.

The best way to use Amen on offense is to use him as the screener and roller in PnR. His man can't just leave him to double on the ball handler because Amen is a lob threat going to the basket. Basically you use him like you use the young Capela. And he's better than Capela in that when he receives the ball, he can dribble and pass, not just dunk.

 

I've been thinking this too. Right now he's the pick-and-roll man, not the ballhandler, at least on this team.

 

Man, just reading your post you'd think the rockets were under 500. This is pretty harsh.
