Obviously all they need is more defense, toughness and energy.

 

Jalen Green had 46 shot attempts in the five games between games 3 and 7, or nine per game. That’s absurdly low for any team’s top scoring threat in the playoffs.

Also, teams are going to blitz/double their opponent’s best scorer in the playoffs, but you still have to hunt shots and find a way to get them. He didn’t. Elite scorers get doubled all the time, but they still find a way to get 15-20 shots because they know their team relies on them to score and can’t afford to not have their usual 20-30 points.

Is Jalen Green an elite scorer? No. Could Ime Udoka and his assistant coaches have done more to get doubles and blitzes off Green? Absolutely.

Regardless, Jalen Green and the Rockets’ coaching staff could have done more to not let the Warriors take him out of the Rockets’ offensive game plan.

 

Was Sengun getting blitzed? Who shots closer to the goal? What was Sengun rank in finishing among PF/C in playoffs within 3ft?

Do you really want to go down this road - He’s a inefficient big man who is a cone on defense, a horrible screen setter but hey he makes flashy passes now and then

 

Was Green being guarded by one of the best defensive bigs last 20 years??

Shooting closer to the basket is a silly argument when Sengun's FG% was already miles higher than Jalen, reg season and playoffs.

You didn't post Green's numbers.... I wonder why.

Performance is all relative between reg season vs playoffs. If a player sucked at certain things reg season, then they'll suck playoffs. Good facets during reg season, should somewhat follow in the playoffs. Jalen regressed much worse than Alperen.

 

Jalen didn’t regress more than Alpi during regular season - lowered his TO , increased his AST, increased his catch and shoot 3% to over 40% and played better on the defensive end

That’s with him playing PG when FVV is out and being the only SG on roster… we were 13-1 when he scored 30+ now with KD we already lost way more games with him scoring 30+ ( I wonder why)

folks want to place all the blame in JG lap but make excuses for Alpi and Amen

I'm not making excuses when I already said Sengun regressed too. Brooks regressed too. Read. And stop making unnecessary arguments.

Jalen had an all-time worst 7-game series ever relative to a player his status. Worse than all Harden's performances, respectively.

 

I think it's obvious. Defenses have COMPLETELY figured the Rockets out and it's not even hard. That, and the Rockets couldn't get their di¢k in the hole if it was the size of the Grand Canyon.
Pathetic offense.

 

Teams figured out a D that worked and we have not adjusted, and the worst thing, is we don't have contrasting players like Jock Landale to punish teams for that adustment.

Both Ime and Durant were asked about teams putting a big on Amen and sagging off of him. They both gave similar answers...he should get off the ball and set more off and on all screens to free up other players.

So why tf isnt he doing that?

 

They have gotten off to a decent 2025 stretch that is totally going to overshadow the 2026 stretch.
