I don't think Alpi has quit but his effort level definitely has lapsed game to game (quarter to quarter even). Since defense is 90% effort his lack of effort is most evident on that side of the ball.


And since we are talking effort and you made this a Euro vs 'Merica thing... how many of these players are known for excelling on the defensive end as much as they do on the offensive end? Jokic (I sometimes see an above average defender) Giannis, Victor? If we agree that defense is primarily about effort why aren't they better defenders?

It's condemning is what it is. The lack of effort is a very bad look. You are right in that Jalen always gave it his best effort, even if he was having a bad game, he was still hustling to defend and contribute in other ways.

Lack of effort is unexcusable. Hope the all-star break fixes things because it's not a good look right now.

It's looking like he'll be shipped this summer. Stone seems to agree with Ime's style and already bought the idea of injuries derailing this season. When we get kicked in the teeth with a first round exit, it will be on all Sengun this time.

Do trade him if he continues like this. Just gotta ensure Ime is gone too. One head roll won't cut it for this upcoming disaster.

The players would fit perfectly around each other if you just made one minor change to the starting lineup. Voila! A normal modern NBA offense.

 

I thought we should run last year when we had and Amen and Green two of the fastest players in the NBA... I also thought we should be leading the league in alley oops instead we were one of the worst teams throwing the lob.

No way 37 year old KD is going to be running up and down the floor though. No chance.

For the past 3 years you'd be labeled a troll or Jalen fan for insinuating Sengun's not THAT guy. Now that Jalen's gone the main SOF's have nobody to blame. Sengun's a poor man's Scola and nothing else. All the hype was from his Turkish fanbase

 

That says it all. Sengun is going to be traded in the off-season. Ime quadrupled down on getting big this season, I guess he’ll quadruple down again. Starting unit next year: Adams, Capella, Giannis, Tari, Amen.

Sengun can’t shoot, doesn’t play defense. Everyone thought he was the next jokic when he’s actually just a slightly improved Domantas Sabonis.

I’ve been saying for a while, he has reached his ceiling. They should’ve traded him while his trade value was still high. I doubt you can get anything for him now.

I would rather have 3-4 years of prime Giannis than 10 years of an overrated fringe all star in sengun.

And yet I'm sick of this GM. Paid $52,000,000 for FVV, DFS, and Jason Momoa. Two aren't playing. The third looks like he'd be abused on a YMCA pickup team.

Reed Shepherd got handcuffed to a urinal long ago and everyone's taking turns on him. He has helmet-and-pipe bruises along his face and neck.
Sengun has skills but he's a detriment on D. And he found a barrel of quit and is soaking in it.
Amen I like but his defensive ability has been largely neutered with the shift to PG.
KD is great but he's 37 years old.

 

I doubt KD has much respect for Sengun’s game

when you go from playing with supremely skilled perimeter players like Steph, Kyrie, Harden, Booker to some slow lazy post up big that can’t shoot or make layups, it’s jarring

KD probably thought Sengun was better than what he actually is when he was only just sort of paying attention to him from afar down in PHX

 

Cool story bro. Not gonna change the fact that Sengun is horrendous. This username was created at the start of Jalen’s career. Reading my posts, you can see that I wanted him gone last year and wanted KD. Stay on topic.

 

His offense and TS% has gotten worse every season. Last year we excused it because he stepped up on defense. Now both his offense and defense has regressed. I thought he was supposed to be getting better?
