It is virtually an accepted fact among some right-leaning posters in this thread that the two journalists arrested here "stormed" a church. But from what’s been reported, that did not happen. They entered the church to cover a protest, and now that act of being present as journalists is being redefined as "storming" it. This feels like the same pattern: treating a claim as settled truth. People want to believe more than they want to know. And when facts are presented, they are disregarded so their belief can continue instead of knowledge.
I am left-leaning, personally. It is illegal to enter a mosque, synagogue, church, abortion clinic or reproductive health clinic and protest. Storming, entering, crossing the threshold, setting foot in or blocking the entrance of a church, mosque, synagogue or other place of worship and interrupting services, yelling at or threatening people is against the law and for very good reason. Don Lemon knew about it beforehand, was aware of the planning and participated in the criminal act. He is being charged under the FACE Act of 1994 which is based on an 1877 law which protected Black churches from kkk members doing exactly what Don Lemon and the other agitators did at the church in Minneapolis.
And yet, two judges refused to issue a warrant. Getting a warrant isn't the hardest thing... Unless the charge is laughable
If you are supporting this kind of criminal act, I don't know what to tell you. Do you realize the number of Islamophobes that would protest in a mosque or how many crazed lunatics would enter abortion clinics and Planned Parenthood and yell at the women they are going to hell? You really think that is a good thing? I really can't believe you are supporting this type of criminal act. I mean the kkk showing up at Black churches and intimidating families?
Ok, so as long as I call myself a journalist I can cover someone interrupting a wedding or funeral service and I'm protected because I'm a "journalist", right?
Radical leftist judges that have abandoned law in order to serve their radical-left masters in the Washington Cartel.
"radical left judges abandoned the law but I fully support my pedophile messiah pardoning anyone he wishes cuz he knows better than judges" loll you dont shame these people enough. These people are beyond delusional
It isn't whether I support it or not. What I don't support and is far more troublesome is the administration going after the press with something so flimsy they couldn't get a warrant. From what I've seen, Lemon wasn't intimidating anyone. Lemon isn't the Klan.
There's definitely footage of folks chanting loudly and marching inside the church, uninvited, and completely disrupting their worship service. One kid was crying from all of the commotion. If a doofus with a viking hat posing for pictures on a podium is "storming" the capitol, then so is this.
Except that the church was currently open to the Republic and people on J6 were assaulting officers, threatening to kill the VP and other Congress people. So quite a difference. But if, like you say, a kid cried, then Lemon deserves to be arrested. We can't have kids crying. That's criminal. I'm sure if the feds had presented that when trying unsuccessfully twice to get a warrant, they would have better luck
church is open to the public for WORSHIP, not for disrupting people trying to pray. The FACE Act is clear and it was violated, but libtards will turn everything into perceived persecution.
Its pretty obvious this is being exploited at a cognative loophole by the administration, as seen in the rush to describe Alex Pretti and Rene Good as terrorist out of the gate without any facts, establishing the most favorable narriative possible and making anybody who is interested in actual objective truth have to do all the heavy lifting of convincing people to change their initial impression. This is a positive state of affairs for propagandists. Pretty sure this is one of those things where you can't put everything back in pandora's box, and its going to be the new normal for both sides going forward.
Journalists can enter to cover a story, even one known beforehand (you know how journalists are able to cover some stories, right?). It's protected by the 1A.
I believe it's actually 5 judges. A federal magistrate judge, the chief judge of the U.S. District Court for MN, and 3 appellate judges from the 8th Circuit. THAT FACT speaks volume, but again, people will believe what they want.
