Can we get LaMelo Ball somehow? I haven't thought about it too deeply, but he has averaged 7+ assists in his career. Amen could still take some time at the point, but would allow him to go back to the dunker/slasher and defensive anchor. Ball - Durant - Sengun - Amen is pretty scary squad on paper. We could use Ball's offensive creativity. Would take another team I'm sure. Ball make's 38M.
I'm not even a fan of Reed but I rather fail with Reed than trade for Coby White. We kinda know what he is, a Jordan Clarkson type.
I'd be disappointed trading Sengun for Giannis. Since he won the championship, his teams have consistently underachieved. He is also dealing with injury issues this year. My hope is that the Rockets are not entertaining anything for him. I know Sengun has his major flaws, but at least he is still young and could still catapult into a superstar. Giannis is who he is and his limitations will always be there. Plus I have never liked his fake humble personality.
Take a look at Coby’s recent box scores and tell me if his 20% 3pt shooting and 3 turnovers per game solve any of the perceived problems Reed’s lack of experience causes. He’s been in the league for a while and they’ve been horrible the whole time. Now that they’re improving he’s available in trade. Hmmmmm…
I'm never really a fan of trading a better player on a better contract for a worse player on a worse contract. I hated the cp3 for russ trade because of that, this is the same idea.
Are they really even trying to trade him? Fred would need to man up and take his money and just accept a trade. Not sure what they would want but if no Fred it would take like Reed, DFS, and Adams + some picks You could do Fred, Reed, Holiday for Melo. Not sure if they’d want Jabari. He would be good salary to match but they already have Bridges, Williams, and Salaun I’d trade Reed & a couple picks for Melo

You could be right. I think as of now, he's currently at 35% from 3pt line, however its not just about the 3pt line, the Rockets need someone who can score at all three levels. And we all know thats just not Reed but if you all have faith in Reed, lets ride with him.

I agree that CP3 was a better player than Westbrook. And Im not down on Reed. Its just that I don't foresee him ever being more than a role player. And because he lacks defense, how much of a bench role can he get on a championship team? And if there is a way for the TEAM to get better, why not make that move? Cody White is bigger than Reed and he is more of a scorer than Reed.
Because you're throwing away Reed (who has multiple years left on a rookie deal) for White, who is 1. worse than reed right now, 2. gone after the season anyway. If White was someone who was a superstar rental that would make us a contender, that's one thing. But he's not as good as reed is right now so we would downgrade for the present AND downgrade for the future (exactly like cp3 for russ). I know you have to hate him though so i get you want him gone.
You don't trade a talent like Reed for a warm body like Coby White. There is a chance Reed doesnt become more than a bench player but its almost a certainty that this is all Coby White will ever be. The fact that the middling Bulls are willing to move on from him is all you need to know.
