    Soundbars..

Samsung EDU store has the Q990D for <$700.
    This year's Q990F is $1800.

$1100 off is a pretty sweet deal...

The 990F was on sale for around $920-something on Woot a couple of weeks ago, but you can still get it there for $960-something the last time I looked. It's got a better subwoofer than the Q990D. If you don't care about that, then there's not a ton of difference. I've got a 7.1 in-wall and bookshelf system in my old house and am frightened to death getting a soundbar, tbh, but a soundbar is better than the tin can speakers in the tv itself. lol. Well, I hope so, anyway.

The LG G5 55" (2025) (OLED55G5WUA) is probably what I want. This model is $1999 at Costco at present. I think maybe the LG Partner Store has it for $1599 - $1699 but I'm not sure since no access and have no idea about deals. It is wall mount only with a stand extra (~$100). I would probably want the stand albeit Costo throws in a $69.99 wall mount service for free (even more if you want to do an in-wall cable installation @ $199.99 plus in-wall cables and power bridge kit). I don't want a sound bar or speaker. Have too many speakers as it is. The TV also has the additional nits, faster processor, and faster interface I would like.

The TV itself comes with the 5 year manufacturer warranty but it works like Year 1: Whole TV is covered (parts/labor) and Year 2 - 5: Panel is covered (parts only; labor out of pocket). BUT, if you buy it from Costco, you still get their Costco Concierge service (to facilitate tech support and warranty claims) and their extended All-State warranty (which covers the whole TV labor/parts included). So, you have two overlapping warranties and can choose the one you want to use.

I'm not sure if this model will come down any more from LG Partner Store or Costco (or anywhere else) closer to year-end.

It may be good enough for a small bedroom, so no biggie.

Just saw the LG C5 65" + S40T Soundbar + xboom Grab Core speaker is now $1134. It's kind of neat to see how much people had been overpaying for all this stuff. lol. LG's been discounting these tv's since at least 4th of July or earlier in the year.

I remember when Tinman had something actually salient to offer this forum and was a good source of feedback for A/V stuff.

I recently bought a Samsung 55: Q6F QLED for $378, great deal. However, I do not like the live tv set up as there is no local live tv channel guide like my Samsung 75" QN84A Neo QLED. I know it's 4 years old and my smaller one I replaced 43" samsung has the same ease of local live tv...but I digress, I'll just have to live with it...
